To Demigod Pirates

Demigod pirates, if you enjoy the game you should buy it. $40 may seem insignificant to a corporation, but as in democratic elections, it adds up.

Purchasing Demigod will support 2 companies (GPG and Stardock) who have confirmed a dedication to improvement. It will encourage updates and expansions. It will lead other companies to follow suit. It will help in bettering a product you already enjoy.

Really? So when you are still playing WoW with its mirrored characters and look to see ALL THE CONTENT for its games even WoW... are player given content, maps and/or add-ons and looks to see WoW's suscriber count *11million* times that by the monthly cost to play.. *15.99* and see they are making $175,890,000 a month to give nothing back towards the players, towards content, cost etc.....

You still want to support them?

I've seen more posts by Dev's here then i have ever seen on the WoW forums because these guys care about your $$ despite what you think and they have a great sense of humor *i liked reading the manual*

I'll agree to disagree here.   I think Blizzard has some of the most polished, complete, well-supported games on the market today.  I'm more than happy to give them my moolah.  I have my problems with WoW, but none of them have to do with quality or percieved lack of content.  That game is gargantuan.  I measure a game's worth more on its content and polish than I do the amount of Dev interaction on a forum and their sense of humor.  Which is nice, but again, I won't throw pity money at a smaller company just because they're smaller.

Excuse me while I go laugh.

Having worked extensively with 3D-modeling, let me tell you that making a geometric, symmetrical shape is just about the easiest thing you can do.  After that, all that's required is extruding faces to create walls and handling the texture work.  MOST of Demigod's maps are like this.  Look at multiplayer maps in the new game Killzone 2, for example.  THAT is the quality I'm talking about.  "3 hours" is an exaggerated understatement, admittedly.. Apologies for being over-the-top.

It wasn't my initial intention, but I guess I'm trolling at this point.  I'll peace out of this thread since I've said everything I wanted to say about the subject.  My ultimate point is that selling the game in its current condition for $40 is a little immoral, and that it's worth $19.99 at best.

I admit I bootlegged this from the start but after reading PurplePaladin's post, I feel so much better for making the purchase..... I'm a father of 3 =)

Dear Pirates, don't be stupid like me and buy this overpriced game at 40$+ and wait for it to either be lowered below 30$ or content added.

Hi there. My only problem with this game is that it costs too much. I've been playing DotA a lot of years from now, and I don't think that I can afford 40$, since it's still somewhere at beta, and most bothering that it's realy not an original gameplay idea. Otherwise I think it will be far-far better than DotA but, I think I'll wait 3 months with it.

Anyway keep up working on it and keep down the price :D GL

The story of Nightrous, the redemed pirate:

3 kids gather around Nightrous with the look of wounded sheep.  "Daddy, all the kids at school said you killed the Stardock Easter Bunny and that you burnt all the Stardock daddy's and mommy's with oil at midnight, and now they have to keep going to a proxtolagist.  Did you really do that daddy?" (tears start to well up in their eyes).  Nightrous: "Daddy will answer you in just a bit kids". Walks slowely and casualy to his car, then drives to the game store like there's a pregnant women in labor in his car; has a tug of war for the last copy of Demigod with a leather clad biker; offers the clerk his gold rolex when his credit card is declined; sighns the speeding ticket he got with a fake chesire cat smile at the officer, then continues to drive slowly (till he is out of view of the cop); signs the second speeding ticket, no fake smile this time.  Rolls up his sleves to fix the flat tire he got taking the shortcut by the nail factory.  Gets home, and shows his kids the DemiGod box.  "See kids, daddy DID buy the game, he's not a pirate!"  Kids: "Yay!  Daddys not a mean O'l pirate (jumping and hugging their dad's legs).

Nightrous's Wife: Where's the rolex I got you for Christmas?!?!?  Nightrous: I'll answer you in just a bit honey *walks casually and slowly to his car*

Hahaha, awesome.

Personally, I think Demigod is worth the price Tag. In Australia, the game cost me just under $59 dollars, and considering most Games retail for $100.00 it's a bargain. Now, it's not a full game - it's really just the entry level part of what will become a much larger game. For the price I paid, I am happy with what Demigod has to offer.

If you quit DOTA because of the gfx I am willing to bet you were never very good at the game.  You don't quit a game with perfect gameplay because of gfx unless you are terrible at it.

After 6 years of it? Yes you do. Plus, the GUI for DotA is so...last millenium. Demigod ROCKS! Pay GPG the $40 and be happy! Man, with all the fixes, hopefully an upcoming moddingtool package, the endless possibilities...for $40?!

Come on. It's a bargain. I KNOW ya'll bought Spore cuz you thought it would be the greatest achievement ever to hit the world of gaming...FAIL! And that cost you $59,99!

Demigod fills a gap, and with fan-created content it'll be through the roof!

Also once a pirate, now spending my full paycheck on GPG and PS3-games :)

I pre-prdered this game immediately it was possible, about a year ago or something like that. Loved the idea and saw the possibilities for our 8 people lan parties (good games for 8 are rare; at the moment we play only Forged Alliance and Left 4 Dead, and I'm sick of it).

Anyway, i haven't yet managed to persuade my friends to this game, they want to try it first, by pirating it. As we mainly play only in our lan parties, it's ok with me. If the game is approved to our pool of lan games, everybody buys it, there is no discussion about that.

About the price of the game, it's ok. We don't care about the single player content, it's all about the multiplayer experience, and because we play in lan, the connection problems don't exist.

Also, to the Demigod pirates: You probably have like 4 World of Warcraft accounts.  And yet, you have been freed from that game by who? By Demigod! And yet you can't spend less money than you spend in one month on a terrible waste of time, to permanently play a quality game legitimately, a game that took some guts to make? I know I would be afraid of Guinsoo or Icefrog suing me if I made this game, and yet, someone had to do it because DotA ain't going nowhere with its 6 year old graphic engine and bad UI.

Buy Demigod! Thank you.

If only this was a quality game!  And I feel stupid for you about the comments vs dota.  Any and all WC3 mods are property of Blizzard Entertainment.  You can make anything you want.. name it anything you want.. and you cannot copyright it, sell it, or anything of the sort.
