OK, so I just started Demigod, but noticed there was no LAN feature on mine?

Do I need to download the update for online play I assume or what?

Yes, the LAN option was enabled in the day 0 patch available through Impulse: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe
