How long ll it take for Demigod to be competitive ?

played already for 5 days. approximately 60  2v2 matches, and only 2 of them i can call "challenging". question is, when we ll see some kind of arranged team matchmaking system ?

gamereplays.org will be hosting lots of tournies - some may even be cash depending on a lot of things.

ESL are hosting one on thursday and signs ups are ready. Its 2v2 - so sign up quick :P

Sure there will be lots more...but I think we need Replays before things get too competitive.

Not only that. You also need a decent population that can actually run the game smoothly. Too many people are still having issues with the game. 'Technical problems' and 'competitive' don't go well together.

My first experience with ESL was for 3v3 DoW2 and that site is just horrible. I really hope someone else takes this games competition starlight before ESL does. The site is confusing (coming from a person who build and repairs computers as a trade), a lot of the support can't speak english very well and their admins/moderators have sarcastic snobby attitudes, as if being affiliated with ESL makes you better than others. I was literally called a noob for asking where or when we could sign up for american 3v3 matches. I was told "Sign up for the international ladder, noob." By an ESL admin.

Long story short, our team got put up against malaysian players and we said 9pm they show up 9am we get penalty points, our team gets locked, it takes admins almost 1.5 weeks to look in to the issue. We give up by then, and to this day it has been weeks... I can't even delete our damn team because there was 3 people on it. I kick them, cant delete because we were still in the dow2 3v3 league (pulling out hair by now), leave the ladder, can't delete! You have penalty points you can not delete this team! I go make another team, click join league, the site has no option to choose what team you want to join the ladder with, so it thinks im rejoining with the old team!

I'm not going to get into the plethora of information they require to sign up, which falls just short of a social security # and credit/background check by the time you are done. Nor am I going to touch how confusing the matchmaking is.

Bad experience with ESL and I hope it does not turn out to be a major role in the DG community. I hope others experience with ESL has not been as retarded.

i know about garena, ranger, hamachi etc.

but, everybody payed 40$ for multiplayer focused game without arranged team support and without a ladder. i understand that i want too much from developers to include those features. tell me plz wats the point in buying cd-key and playing via 3dr party networks?

When the beta was out ESL was hosting quite a few cups 1v1 and more. Right now they are hosting their 2v2 cup and giving premium accounts for prizes. If the demand for Demigod is high they will build up a team of moderators through recruitment who will be incharge of the Demigod section, managing ladders, hosting cups and leagues and finding sponsorship for prizes like Razers, steelseries, AMD, ATI, Intel, nvidia and such.

Right now ESL is the best there is - http://www.esl.eu/eu/demigod/news/84578/DEMIGOD-EU-Page-Launch-Opening-Cup/

The news has been a main news for days on their site. ESL seems to be quite interested in the Demigod as well as they are featuring it as a playable game at their upcoming Intel Friday Night, which is mostly a showmatch between top professional gamers.

If Stardock/Gaspoweredgame or who ever is working on the connectivity issue can get it fixed before people lose interested then it would be good to give Demigod a strong push towards comeptitive area. But for now I think showing appreciation towards ESL would be very generous.

Giving these guys support to start their Demigod tournament going is also not bad - http://www.fraggednation.com/forum/topic/Demigod-Request-8590

The ESL one is open to anyone. You need a teammate ofcourse. You just have to register, create a gameaccount&team then sign up.

I made a post about it - http://forums.demigodthegame.com/347834 - Hopefully it is enough.
