Questions from a new player

Hello,

I've never played DotA and I'm fairly new to Demigod. I'd appreciate a few answers to questions I have about game mechanics as well as strategy. I'm able to beat Tournament levels on Hard once in a while.

1. Is there bonus exp/gold for dealing killing blows to enemy units? Clearly there is for heroes, but I can't really tell if it's advantageous to actively kill enemy units or just let my troops do their thing.

2. How close do I need to be to a troop fight to get exp rewards?

3. How is tower damage figured? I've seen them link together when shooting, but I'm not really clear on what this does (especially with Rook and his towers involved)

4. A strategy question: Should I take the flags that produce troops, or is this just feeding my opponent exp? It seems ilke the war score is worth it, but I'm not really sure.

5. Is there an 'attack-move' command? I read about ALT+RIGHT CLICK on a help screen somewhere, but it doesn't seem to do anything different.

Thanks for any help :)

1. I read elsewhere it's not for killing enemy units, but dealing enough damage to them. So yes, it's advantageous.

2. 20.. whatever units it is, I believe. If you can throw a long range spell to enemy creeps from where you're standing, yo should also get  exp.

3. The linking is just a visual effect and doesn't affect gameplay. Not 100% sure, but nearly..

4. Depends on situation. Usually you should take them, they help take towers down and benefit your war score. You also get nice exp for capping flags.

5. Alt+right click should work, but it's bugged or something. Works for minions, may work for demigod.

4.  Yeah, it's a great idea as it effectively pushes the other team back further.  They have to battle out of more stuff to get out of their base, but only once you get the upgraded units does it really shine.
