On Bell DSL in Canada and having multiplayer problems? Read here...

As many of you know Bell throttles P2P for all DSL customers between 4pm and 4am.  Try again not within those times, watch how well it works.  P.S. I believe Rogers does as well, and Bell throttles it's wholesale DSL aswell so no difference buying DSL from a different company.

Yep. Contact CRTC and let them know how you feel about being F'd in the ass by Bell.

For those of you pirates who read this and feel a measure of sudden understanding as to why your ratio sucks during the aforementioned hours, consider yourselves enlightened.

I already railed one Bell Tech Support guy out for preventing me from enjoying my game the way every other person does. Won me a few months free service and a promise that they'll 'look into it'. I expect no results, but at least I'm getting free internet that I didn't have to crack or steal.

make sure you contact Bell, and if you can, contact your local MP or MPP or whatever, the federal one, I think it's MP.  Mine's old ass Peter Kent so he won't understand, but I walked into his "office" in a plaza nearby and explained everything, but he refused to meet me.  This is our freaking civillization they are playing with when they mess with the internet.

Those of you on 3rd party dsl providers. I recomend you talk to your provider and see if they have MLPPP available to you. Some do and it gets around the whole throttling issue.

I have Cogeco cable internet and I've had nothing but non-stop NAT facilitator errors even with my router unplugged; I'm not sure if they throttle P2P since I download torrents fine.

I use Colba.net, which uses the bell lines but they purchased there own servers. As advertised by there website there is absolutely no traffic throttling and no download limit for the ADSL2+ connection.

I avergage out at about 7-8mb and 1 mb updload all for a price of 39.50. I live in Montreal though close to one of their centrals.

This may help anyone living in downtown Montreal.

I'm on Cogeco lostbizzo and I have no connection problems here. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they were the source of your problems.

Cogeco definitely does throttle, just not in all areas.  I know from experience they have been throttling in Hamilton for about 10 years almost now.
