New patch so far

I wish I could join you with a big smiley emoticon, however I'm still experiencing the same issues, and have noticed zero change. I'm glad it's fixed it for you, and others, however I'm still waiting for these new reflection serves to be set up. Hopefully then I can post that smiley emoticon.

i still have major issues as well... 2 out of 3 games never start, with someone "not connected to anyone" so i have to cancel after 5 minutes wait and try again (pantheon). Also, 2 out of 3 games that actually start, have someone disconnect right at the start of the game, the rest of them are extremely laggy, sometimes someone leaving midgame due to the heavy lag.

Just had a wonderful Custom game at a second attempt. No lag, everything went well. Awsome fun.

Prior to that, I made 5 failed attemps to join Patheon games. Not so good.

I'm not giving up on Demigod, far from it, the buzz from a plan comming together in this quick enviornment is brilliant. Also, getting a kicking is not so bad as the game is usualy over quickly anyway.

Pantheon games are still horribly broken for me.  Never launches into the game.  The custom games appear to work a bit better.  I did get several "fail to connect to" messages, but those were easy enough to cancel out of and find another custom game to join.

When I tried to host a game last night, I was having a lot of people getting even a 3v3 going.  If I'm having the same problems later tonight, I'll be inclined to think the patch actually made things worse lol.

i saw absolutely no change with last nights patch. Ill try again tonight because i did try it as soon as the patch was released so maybe the people hosting didnt have the patch up yet.

surely improved but still work to do, sometimes still ppl cant connect each other and over all the time required to connect, mostly with large games (4v4 5v5) is still HUGE

Just wanted to point out, if everyone is extremely laggy to you, the problem may actually be you.  After all, the ping measures your ping to those other people, and if you have a bad connection, then all those pings will be high.

Forwarding ports is just one step.  Making sure there isn't someone on your connection file-sharing is also important (for every game).  Also, playing with people geographically close to you helps (which does not seem to be in for skirmish and pantheon at the moment).  It's why I like playing custom games, as people usually put their location in the game title so usually only people close to the host will join and everyone will have good pings.

Glad the patch works for you. For me it made it so that I can no longer play any multiplayer game with Demigod. It keeps giving me the you've been kicked error. Before the patch, my connection was fine. So it seems the patch broke something.

I believe FrogBoy's blog (google "Skinning the Frog," or I believe it was like frogboy.joeuser.com or something) has changes implemented.

Well then, now it's broken for me as well. All the Skirmish, Custom and Pantheon games give: "you have been kicked from the game" error - even those where 4-6 people are all connected (connections are made very quickly, just like during the morning). After all the connections are made, atleast I am kicked.

EDIT: a definite kick happens when for some reason: "you fail to connect to XXX" and that means an instant kick.

Is there a another update coming out today? Connectivity got worse for me from last nights patch.

I used to get in within 2-3 tries. I just tried for 60 minutes and failed each time. Same message, you've been kicked.

Okay people. We're all dealing with one day's worth of games here. It's hard to base anything off such a little cross-section. I felt my connectivity got better, but that could just be luck. You felt it got worse? That could just be BAD luck. Give it time.

What kind of connectivity issues did you have?

There are 3 that we are most concerned about right now:

1. The case where you have connected to other players but just don't get into the game

2. The case where you just don't connect to other players for whatever reason.

3. The case where you connect to other players but in pantheon or skirmish you end up alone.

Is it one of those 3 or something else?

I used to easilly connect and get "connection info" dialog. It used to have 4 or 6 people (including myself) and assuming 1 of them didnt disconnect, i usually got through.

Now it is much the same, only this time, i get the "kicked from game" message. Usually i get this message RIGHT after someone disappears from the list who was ahead of me in the # of connections (im assuming they got the same message)? Of those 10 #1's attempts about 6 of them were after everyone connected to everyone.

Ok and disclaimer, all necessary ports forwarded, vista x64, firewall disabled, USA.

I do not think I have seen any improvement it still feels like the vast majority of games/lobbies are having connection issues.....sigh...

I actually, for the first time ever(im in australia) had a pantheon game with _6_ people in it - that's right, a 3v3. I was so amazed i almost alt-f4'd in surprise. To date the most i have had in it was 4 - me on one side, 3 on the other - or most common, me on one side, one other guy on the other. So yeah an actual real live 3v3. Was amazed.

In order to get into that 3v3 had to persist with trying to connect, kept getting the You have been kicked message - one eventually got through somehow.

Brad, if you're reading this, that's a legitimate problem. I actually got the SAME message, but I DID get in the game. That's right, I got in the game and that message was there, but I stayed in the game, just had to "x" out of the message to play. But yeah, I think that message is more prevalant with the new patch.

Deepjay, i had my first 3v3 last night pre-patch. It was amazing. I really hope people stick through this crisis stage because theres alot of promise here.

I only started playing today and my first MP match I had no issues but the next 10 or so games I tried to play after that is exactly what happened to me also. I got tired of seeing either 1 players quit while everyone was connecting for it to kill the entire process although the screen just sits there doing nothing until you quit yourself. I'm kinda of disapointed about this I'll try again tomorrow hopefully it's better.
