Ah, but it cannot be a pre-emptive strike if GROSS is already at de facto war with all comers. Luckily, I just tend to slink here and there, so I can easily slip into enemy territory and share a couple of brews with some of my favorite members from the other empires on the side. But this time the post has more substance. The Republic has openly declared war, spun itself into a state of emergency, and requesting passage through the land of the White Council.

It can be assumed then that fogman has assumed dictatoral powers until the state of emergency is over. But will the state of emergency ever be over. Will he take the reigns of the Republic at a time of need and give it back when the trouble is gone? Or will he keep the power for himself and end the existence of the Republic as we know it?

That said, a couple well qualified individuals are running for offices in the Republic. Well actually only one, Maximus, and if fogman never returns power to the Republic, Maximus will never get a chance to lead the Republic to glory.

Also speculation spreads on changing the name from The Republic to The Empire.
