The intent of the White Council is to band together a community of gamers who are interested to Galciv regularly and to contribute to improving the game while being useful members of this forum.

The pre-requiste for a White Council member is basic commitment to the above purpose. There is no requirement for you to be as clinical a finisher as "I can win in my sleep" Staffa or have the workrate of Sergey the dark horse/black sheep. :)

You might ask as to why you should join the Council where you could be a regular contributor by yourself. The White Council is an opportunity for you to belong to a small community within the big Galciv one. You would also be assured of help or assistance from your fellow Council members as needed.

I'm back after a week of hard work. I'm sorry that I miss the whole interaction here. I just managed to read all the posts.

(By the way, the internet speed in Turkey dropped 80% after the earthquake of Algeria, two weeks ago. The connection through the meditarrenaen is cut. A lot of people can't reach their yahoo or hotmail accounts. Internet was never very fast here, but now it's horrible. The problem is to be solved in a few days -they say...)

There seems to be not too much interest in the "suggestion project". I'm in, but I don't dare to start alone.

Gezz, no worries. We will not start a project without sufficient support and resources. I will be soliciting for support from the bigger Galciv community soon.

Ellestar, I honestly do not have any problem using Apolyton if that is available to us. In fact, I would urge you to get more Apolytoners involved in these projects. These are community projects which just happens to be facilitated by the White Council.

Well, if you are interested, here is what we offer. It basically works like this, you get a set of forum and whatever sub-forums you want. You get a group for moderator access, that you can add and remove people to/from. This group gives anyone added to it moderator access to all of your forums and sub-forums. You can also have private forums that only people added to your members group can see and have access to. Basically, however you want to work it. Let me know if you are interested.

The White Council has fallen. In a daring land assault, these normally seafaring G.R.O.S.S. pirates, using their new death ray zorcher technology stormed the tower of Eisengard. the Council, unable to counter this vigirous, virile, and potent bunch, hid themselves in the tower all the while the Pirates were attempting to find the booty. They found the sacramental wine of course and took it back to their ship and are celebrating a hard fought first place.

There is nothing wrong with your post, Sergey. I'm sure it was very informative to Galcivers but I did not expect much feedback per say as it was more of an AAR.

Ellestar,

I've thought about Project 3 and was thinking that the White Council should not be reinventing the wheel if Apolyton is already doing something similar. If the strategy compliation over at Apolyton is going to be available to all Galcivers and if contributors are given due acknowledgement and credit, I would suggest that Apolyton take the lead on Project 3. The White Council would then put its support behind Apolyton for this.

How does that sound to you, Ellestar?

I agree that once projects kick off, we should have some offsite forum or website to coordinate. Personally, my technical skills are non-existant and would like that each project coordinator arrange for all this separately with team members.

I would be broadcasting the Council's call for support tomorrow. I would request interested Galcivers to provide us with their email contact so as to facilitate further coordination.

If you need web-work done I have some small skill in the art of web programming (HTML/CSS, javascript, servlets/JSPs, and PHPs mostly) ... I'm probably going to be fairly busy most of the summer, though.

Sorry I haven't been around more, I'm just trying to finish a game of MOO3 (with code patch) ... it's fairly fun, even my first time playing, but it takes so long to play on the really slow computer I'm on right now.

Guys, I'm know that we all have other commitments outside in real life (which are just as important as Galciv ;) ). I'm really hoping that more Galcivers would share our vision and join us in these efforts. In no way will I overcommit the Council on projects. Let's take it slow and steady.
