Getting Very Unplayable FPS When i shouldn't be?

I'm getting very unplayable FPS, like 3-5 fps it seems like.  I have everything set to low and things like Anti-Aliasing off.  Here's my spec:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7700 @ 2.40GHz

NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT

4GB Ram

Windows Vista

Try running the game with the /nosund option. If you are unfamiliar on how to do that: create a shortcut to Demigod.exe on your desktop, right click the shortcut and choose 'Properties'. In the line after 'Target', add /nosound. So the path should look something like "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe" /nosound

Note that there's a space between "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe" and /nosound.

Then try and play the game by running this exe. If your performance improves significantly, please post in this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/348232

The thread is stickied here on the technical forums.

They are working on this issue and you could help out by reading post number 42 in that particular thread.

This did significantly improve my game's performance, smooth as a baby's ass on low settings, i can prolly get away with cranking them up now.  I hope you guyz find a way to fix the sound though.  I'll just have to put on some hardcore techno or buckethead for now.

I don't believe my laptop has a sound card but i do use a G35 headset, dunno if that helps you guys.

Did you read this thread before you asked for help? Trying reducing the sound fidelity to Low, or play using /nosound on your shortcut. Read above.

All I had to do was set sound quality to low and turn off reverb.  It now runs perfectly smoothly.

Re-install your chipset drivers, sound drivers, and video drivers. If the problem persists, re-install the game. If the problem still persists, you've got a hardware issue.
