In game account name

I think you can just go into impulse and change your nickname...?

Im looking through Impulse right now and don't see an option to change my nickname... where is it?

It won't change your ingame nickname though.

You would have been right before April 24. It seems to have been fixed.

You go into the Community section of Impulse and change your log-in nick. When you log in the Internet game, that Impulse nick is the one that must be used, and it is now supposed to be recognized in the lobby & the game itself.

If it doesn't work immediately, a Stardock employee recommended to give it a few hours, or even a day, to let the database update the info transfer.

Eventually, they will make it much easier to have multiple player nicks associated with one Impulse Account, without having to go into Impulse to change the Account's log-in nick each & every time you want to switch.

Well I saw that post as well (*sorceresss), so I've been logging in with the name that i want, but it always then says "logged in as "old account name""... so i don't know if i should be waiting with hopes, or creating a new account... =/ thanks for the replies guys

That was my case for over a month, since the mid-March phase of the Beta, and it really p*ssed me.

The old Impulse Account name was my dad's nick. With his permission (of course, since he pays), I changed it to my Stardock forums nick. That part was easy, but for over a month, even though I had successfully logged in with the new Impulse name (my Sorceresss nick), once I was in, I was told that I had logged in with the old Account name (my dad's nick) --- an obvious contradiction, as you illustrate.

I complained and bitched about it on a few threads, and lo and behold, on Friday the 24th, my dad's nick had disappeared from all DG related info, and I was at last recognized as Sorceresss in the lobby and within the games.

I then believed that a technical fix had solved the issue for everyone. Maybe kryo got tired of my forum whining & bitching, and he pressured his mysterious "database guys" to fix my case to shut me up.

Sorry if I misled you all (in my reply #4) : I really believed that the problem had been eradicated on the 24th.

This really ups my spirits that one day my name will finally change to Vice.. Guess it's the waiting game til then

Fix anytime soon?? I mean I like killing... I'd just like to kill as Vice, and not my first initial.last name... kinda takes somethin away from it

Same problem here. Do we need to change our nickname again (after the 29th) for the DB script to pick up the change?

While relative... doesn't help much.. will this ever get fixed!?!... i mean this may not be the biggest issue out there as far as priorities... but is it really that hard a task to complete

It just seems so miniscule a problem (that people have had fixed so they do pay attention to it) that it would please at least one of their customers and i highly doubt it'll slow their progress with bigger issues at all...

Some people used their real names to log into Impuse, so, when they play/played DG, their real name show as their character's name.  Yikes.

vice isn't a bad account name it could bbe  worse you could have  put yourfull name with like 7 numbers at the end

Here is a thread as proof that I changed my name from Tototot to TatertotEatalot (You'll notice my response after I did it).  You will have two accounts, but at least its permantely changed and all my games are on the TatertotEatalot account.
