Because Erebus has relatively low health, it can be pretty tempting for people to chase after him, particularly new players who haven't gotten a handle on his abilities.
If you notice someone chases you a lot, try to get them chasing you while you have your minions wail on them for a while, then bite them. If you're lucky they'll be miles away from safety, have a large chunk off their health, and be surrounded by your minions who are now ALL doing extra damage.
Be careful of the bite bug though, sometimes it doesn't go off and then you die
