New Demigod Concept: Dragon?

New Demigod Concept: Dragon?

I saw someone mention the idea of a Dragon as a Demigod but couldn't find any threads about it. What do we all think? A Dragon type demigod, scaled to be close to the size of the Rook with Dragon like abilities. I don't feel like listing all the abilites it could have, most would be kinda obvious. What do you all think?

An oriental Dragon design would be a welcome change to the typical westernised Dragon designs in RPGs and such.

Something like this perhaps?

Dragon

if we are going to go with a dragon idea, can the traditional dragon and go for the chinese style dragon.

if anyone doesnt know about them, think of the Dragon Ball Z type dragon.

or even some kind of Wyrm? theres much cooler mythological beast than dragons.

Chimaira, Manticore, Hydra, Wyvern, Harpy, Demons, Leviathan, Centaur, Siren, Naga.
Seriously, go nuts! base something around the style of a few of these. even some kind of giant Snake

i say go hydra and you can very easily make a non stero typical american dragon why not have it be so large that it needs tons of wings (like 6) just to even get off the ground.... we need a another rook sized demigod... but when i say dragon i dont mean just a red dragon with two wings ho hum boring go all out on its design and make it unique

Quoting Kryopsis, reply 17

Queen of Thorns is one of the flatter characters, admittedly.
End of Kryopsis's quote

Queen of thorns...flat? Sorry, I couldn't help myself after I read that, haha

Also, if you want a "huge" creature, you should look up the greek mythological creature "charybdis"

Dragons are awesome. period.

i don't care if you think its cliche. of course it is, its cliche because Dragons are awesome and thus get used all the time. because they're awesome.

I see a lot comments with people saying that dragons are unoriginal. Well guess what? Not much in this game is "completely" original. So much has been used before in other games, movies and books. Even the character Rook has been used before. (FF9, Alexandria Castle) Lord Erebus' name isn't even original, they copied the name AND the character to a certain degree. Unclean Beast is just a demonic beast. If you in fact take a good look at the characters and have a decent knowledge about Mythology you'll see that the character are just mostly cool and some ideas have been used in a original way. Somehow I find Regules a very original angel idea.

So what about dragons? I can understand that a lot of people have a negative idea about dragons because they are somewhat overused in games and movies. But then again, if you look closely to most dragons in games and movie they are all western or american style. Yes, using one those in Demigod is unoriginal. But there are many forms, legends and stories about dragons. We also have Eastern Dragons, like people have said before me. I'd say that if a team can make character based of an angel can look cool and original, they can make a dragon look original too.

We also have another problem. Everybody wants to like the new character, and guess what? No chance in the whole world that everybody will like the new demigods, sure there will be some who don't like it.

I personally like to see some kind of flyign creature, wether it's wyrm, dragon, serpent or chimeara.
