Crashing when joining game if alt-tab'ed out

When waiting to connect I sometimes go check out web sites. Sometimes the game will crash though, it seems like perhaps after connections are done and I go into lobby. I get an error I normally can't see, but this time I did have visible window.

This happens to me, too.  Had a post about it, but the devs ignored it.

In my experience the game will crash in the menus fairly frequently whenever you alt-tab out, regardless what you're doing.

 

Makes trying to coordinate getting into a game via AIM very, very annoying.

You could try using xfire instead and chatting in-game. Or Impulse.

It happens to me as well.  It crashes when I'm hosting and another player joins.  When I attempt to maximize, I'm met by a gray screen and a fatal error in a new window.

 

I don't know that the developers ignored it, but I think they have their hands full with trying to fix multiplayer.  This is probably lower on the list.

I'd appreciate at least an acknowledgement that they know it's an issue and will get to it someday.  So long as I see that, I don't really mind how long it takes.  Within a reasonable limit, of course :)

They seem to be ignoring bugs at the moment, even acknowledging them which is pretty dissapointing.

They're concentrating on getting the multiplayer part working first, bugs and glitches will be addressed once the large majority of players can connect to one another. The Alt+Tab crash is recognised and has had several posts made about it however to my knowledge there is no fix.

Using other methods for contact, such as the Impulse chat system, is the only work-a-round as it removes the need to Alt+tab.

Yeah, I know the multiplayer issues are by-far the first priority, and that's totally cool.  Pathfinding bugs, favor points, and CTD bugs in multiplayer matches also all need to come before Alt-Tab/Multimonitor hangs like this.

Which is *fine*.  I just want to know that they've seen this and have it in some big List O Bugs somewhere.

It's not exactly much effort to throw all of these known issues in to a post so we at least know they aren't being ignored.  If they don't see them as bugs then I will be applying for a refund :0

Alt-Tabbing (or clicking on your second monitor or whatever) doesn't seem te be working very well. It crashes 50% of the time for me, and also with my friends.

 

I must admit that this is a TERRIBLE problem which really needs to be solved. I frequently alt-tab to answer skype calls, chat with my friends or to use the internet while waiting for players.

 

If all connection issues would be solved in the future (I believe they will), then the alt-tab problem could still be the reason for me to not play the game at all because of it's annoying nature.
