Demigod worth getting now?
Hey all- I am highly considering getting demigod --but not until the online thing is fixed. would you all agree with me or is it worth getting right now?

In all honestly, if you're still on the fence I would wait another week. We're supposed to be getting a beta patch today for the people who still have issues (beta patch just in case something goes wrong so it wouldn't mess up those who don't), and the proxy servers should be up within the next few days as well.
Personally I think it's worth getting anyway, but I'd get accused of being biased since I have no reason to think SD will not deliver on their promise to fix it up, whether it's this week or next - depending on how the beta patch goes.
Wait another week. online is still crappy.
It's an amazing experience when it works. It's still a little flaky, but you can get your money's worth as long as you're not one of the fringe cases for which it absolutely does not work. (and if you're in the US you're probably not)
Like Annatar said, it should be soaring in another week or two. But there's no reason not to pick it up now. There's a lot to learn, and plenty reason to play some offline skirmishes before hopping online.
Buy the game a week before you plan on playing it seriously because other wise your going to get owned. Take a week to learn.
It's still way to early. Wait until you see the online connectivity complaints die down online and then jump in. The game has some great potential, but right now you'll just be ticked off and may never come back to playing it.
I am still generally a fan of demos. Whenever in doubt, wait for a demo.
That said, it depends on what you're looking for.
The built in multiplayer match making in Demigod is still a travesty IMO. But if you're okay using something like Game Ranger or want to play on the LAN or you mainly like to play against computer players, then you're proably in good shape.
Any idea how long he'll be waiting? Couple weeks, couple months?
You do not know how much respect you just earned from me with that comment.
yes
it depends on ur router if connection, if ur sure of them go for it, if not wait a week...
It is very enertaining just playing a single player Tournament mode to get you started. I would win a Hard tournament, or even a Nightmare tournament, in single player before jumping online. You can get online before then, of course, it can just be a brutal way to learn the game playing against other players.
Demigod is a great game and multiplayer keeps improving so it is very much worth getting be it now or in a week.
Absolutely.
It's a great game.
I would wait for a demo if I were you. By the time it comes out, the MP is probably fixed and you can also see if the game runs at all on your comp (people are having issues still, and I'm not talking about the MP problems). If it runs and the MP is fixed, it's a great game.
thanks everyone--ill be waiting to hear about the online patch they release before i buy it--see you in the arena when they do ![]()
Still broken, put it on the back burner for two weeks. Head to best buy, they got a bunch of stuff on sale for $9.99 (mostly console, but spread across all consoles), you can probably find something to hold you over for a week or two.
Personally, it's been working fine for me. Granted I've only played 3 games, but during those games not one person dropped. Connecting to games has also been pretty quick.
The game's also easy to learn and not stressful at all to play, so you can jump right in there withouth having to really figure much stuff out.
That's just my experience though.
Absolutely fantastic game! The most fun I've had gaming since.....well I don't want to remember. I've given companies like Noobi-soft (UBI) way too much of my money over the years......sigh ![]()
Giving Stardock money feels like an investment, tell me the last time giving a software DEV your money felt like that?
For me the critical thing is.......I'm not a fantasy-genre gamer. Never have been. I'm usually a WW2-RTS and FPS gamer. This genre and game-type were a complete FIRST for me, a first I'm not about to regret!

Asking if you should buy a game on the games forums is typically a pretty bad way to go about getting advice. Try a less biased place.
