My overall DG strat

Below is what is currently my overall strategy for playing a DG match. Basically it is broken into early, mid and late game. Early game is before you have the gold to get upgrades. Mid game is while you are buying upgrades. Late game is when you have enough ability to attack towers.

Optional are tactics I try sometimes before moving to the required steps.

Aside from the specific DG ability use this seems to basically be all the tactical options there are in DG.

Can someone give me some other options? Is it really any different with teams?


OVERALL DG STRATEGY


** EARLY GAME **

Required
- Farm creeps
- Cap flags away from enemy towers (called neutral flags) when you can.
- DON’T DIE. So run away if you are losing health! This applies all game.

** MID GAME **

Optional
- Spend gold on DG tower focused attacks
- Use DG to destroy towers.

Required
- Spend gold on creep/icon upgrades so they can attack towers. 
- Spend exp on DG offensive attacks to kill other DGs.
- Kill other DGs on sight.

** LATE GAME **

Optional
- Aim to clear the towers near enemy portals.
- Not possible if portal on other side of citadel or no flag to capture for portals.
- Cap portal flags and lock.

Required
- Aim to clear towers on most direct creep path to citadel.
- Destroy citadel.

Early game:

Structural health upgrade is a must for most maps.

 

Anytime:

Carrying portal scrolls is essential if you know the enemy will be able to run fast than you. Hell, carry at least one in case you need to get to the other end of the map to aid an ally.

Carry Universal Gadgets on Fortress mode! For the love of (demi)god heal those Forts! ;)

I dont agree. No one will be able to assault your towers early on. Save the gold.

Maybe. I usually have a teleport scroll at all times, but I find if have time to use it you probably could just run away anyway.

Sounds like a good point, but this is conquest only... I havent really played the other modes yet.
