[Bug] - Already known but still ranting :)

Hey guys & gals.

I'm gonna rant a little, but nothing much.

It's quite irritating when you hit "1" (for example) as Erebus, and Bite doesn't go off. Or when you hit "3" with Regulus, and MoTB doesn't go off either.

What's even more irritating is when you use the wand that gives your the +25% speed boost : if I use this, 90% of the time it's in order to escape as fast as possible. If so, why the hell my DG should stop running, cast the wand, then I have to click somewhere again in order to make him run again ?

Same thing with Bite. If I chase a DG, then bite him...next thing you know Erebus stands still instead of chasing the DG for a "finish him " move.

I hope the 2 bug (if the "stop running" one is a bug of course - if it's a feature then it's really not fun at all) will get fixed soon enough.

Such a good one.  Man I HATE that.  Happened to me all day today.  What's ironic and aweful about it is this:  Run anywhere normally, click the wand to increase speed by 25% for 8 seconds and watch how it works flawlessly.  You don't stop at all, in fact you keep running but FASTER!   Now, try the same thing but running from an enemy DG or towards one for the kill and what happens???  Lo-and-behold you STOP running!!!!    <<insert massive profanity here>>

these type of bugs are the real game breaking type, and I really hope they take top priority after the MP problem is dealt with.  Well mainly the using skills but them not going off one.

I have no doubt that it is one of the top priority for them. I knew about the ability bug, but as soon as I figured out the wand related one...man I can tell you I got so mad I just had to make a thread ^^

That's it, I had it with this bug. Tried to launch Heal 5 DAMN TIMES and it didn't go off, even when moving after each click/button press.

And yes, target was in range.

Yeah as far as I am concerned this is the next highest priority thing to fix after multiplayer.  Next up acheivements... anoying but doesnt make you loose games.

Dear God I hate this bug.  It's cost me so many kills.  And the wand.  Ugh..

By all means, keep these issues front and center.

Thankfully, the game runs fine in multi for me and the folks I play with so response problems are by far, the most irritating problems in the game at the moment.  Can they be worked around?  Sure, but there's nothing fun about having to compensate for shoddy controls, especially in the critical moments where you need to make a saving heal, retreat, land a well-timed ability, or catch a runner (all of which seem to be the precise moments when the bug kicks in).

When I play the UB these days, I have to mash the right mouse button to stay on target just to make sure he doesn't get distracted by goddamned soldiers (or by the overwhelming desire to do a little dance) when my target's health goes critical.

Come on, when do you plan to fix this ? As Erebus, it's a pain not to be able to bat + bite in succession like 90% of time. A real pain !

I have only experienced it with QoT when trying to change forms from open to close. Having to press 4 three or four times to close and activate bramble shield has cost me and allies a life a few times.

The bite nerf + this bug really, really hurts erebus.

This bug seems to be 90% gone for me.  Not sure what they did.  I play Sedna all the time, and now have about a 5% "sit there and do nothing" rate; it use to be about 40%.

The bug is definitely alive and kicking 100% for me. Major times when i have noticed it is with erebus, which is really f"#ยค&#&! annoying!! Also pretty bad with Ub, say if you try to grasp, but before you are in range enemy DG starts retreating to his towers, you change your mind and try to spit instead (by just pressing 1, then left clicking enemy dg which is well within range for spit but not grasp) he will still continue walking trying to get into MELEE range (chasing thru all the turrets) like if he trys to grasp, unless you give ub a move command between the grasp and spit. this is REALLY annoying! you press SPIT SPIT SPIT and left click enemy dg 5-6 times but he STILL tries to get in range for that old grasp which was ordered 5 minutes ago. Once he even managed to get into melee range, started grasping, then immediately afterwards did the spit, then died to the turrets. GAME BREAKING BUG!!!

It kinda feels like sometimes the commands you give your DG are queued? but only sometimes.

Happens all the time with erebus bite, it need to be fixed asap, i noticed its far more common when you try to bite rook.

I don't have a magical solution, but I don't get the ability bug if my character is moving, and it's much more prevalent when my chacter is in the auto-attack state. Not sure about idle state. This isn't much consolation for bite, since you will likely be attacking, then bite, then continue attacking/run away, but for both heal and pounce it's pretty workable.

Post made by GPG a while back (not 100% - maybe a weeksih ago?)

It is funny in retrospect to see how the OP broke the gameplay bugs down. We thought they were broken down the same way which was leading us to many false positives and incorrect assumptions on causality while troubleshooting. They are actually interrelated bugs with two completely unrelated causes.

About an hour ago we isolated these two causes of Blocking/Stucking/Targeting in-game as you refer to them, and knowing is more than half the battle for us. These aren't trivial to fix, and will require some extra testing to ensure we don't sacrifice stability in the process of fixing them, but this category of bugs just got a big red target painted on them.

In the meantime, you will see some improvement if you avoid targeting in the center left of your screen during chat, and abilities will fire more consistently if you issue a move command (as opposed to an attack command) prior to activating them, especially when pursuing or escorting a target.

FWIW, if you see a bug in-game and are REALLY passionate about helping us fix it, try to get what we call "100% repro", which is basically a step by step chronological list of the bare minimum things to do that will make the bug happen every time.

Try to eliminate unnecessary steps in the process, but don't leave out anything during game setup, those are often most crucial. Also avoid steps like "Play for 30 minutes". That is so nebulous that it hurts my head, and the number of things that can happen to taint the evidence during long lapses is exponentially infinite.

Obviously we aren't expecting everyone to spend time helping us make the game better in this way, it is our job afterall, but we can fix things so much more quickly when we have a clear understanding of the issues like this one.

Thx :)

As for reproductability (sp ?) it's quite easy, take Erebus, bat near some DG, and instantly try to bite him (as a finish move)...and see how it goes :/
