The Warscore

I have a few questions about the Warscore.

  • Why does the Warscore in the Scoreboard differ from the Warscore shown in the Citadel?
  • What values exactly are the thresholds for the Warrank? (Is it always as 500 increment?)
  • Are captured flags the only means of increasing the Warscore or does something else contribute to it too?
  • What's the "base income" in Warscore and how much does a flag add to it?

ive wondered about the specifics of this as well.

i would like to suggest that a war rank bar or number be put on the normal HUD so that i (easily, at a glance) know if i should head back to the citadel to buy an upgrade.

Yes To keep hitting tab is annoying.

Well, the War Rank in the score board is the same as in the Citadel, thankfully. But it's not enough to just know the War Rank. If you want to optimize your tactics, for example it's more efficient to head back to the citadel soon enough, so that you are there, when the War Rank increases. And not sooner or later. But since the war score in the score board is not the same as in the citadel and since we do not know at which War Score the War Rank increases, it's hard to guess when the Citadel will reach the next level.

Don't know.

810

Most likely.

Are you sure about that? According to that, you would achive a War Rank of 10 at a War Score of 7290. But I distinctly remember having a War Score of 9000 and not having Level 10 yet. Maybe it's also map dependent or simply no linear?

I really hope this suggestion gets taken into consideration.

You can see the War Score and the War Rank already in the Score Board (Tab). (However, the War Score in the Score Board differs from the War Score in the Citadel, for yet unknown reasons. Maybe a bug?)

Pressing tab is not the suggestion, I do not want to have to press tab to see the warscore.

Lazy :P  What's wrong with that?  A quick flick and you're done.

Hmm, a little progress bar woudnt hurt. Its easier than to keep track of the numbers. The score board would be fine for me, the main screen would be better though.

Have your personal assistant do it for you then? Y/N?

Not to be an ass but if having to hit a button to check your war rank is acceptable then why have health and mana on the main hud? would it be ok to have these stats only display in another window? imo this is a vital enough piece of info that i would like to have a progress bar so i can anticipate when it will level up and so i could keep a constant watch on it.

can any devs shed some light on how the war score is calculated?

Because HP and MP is something you need to keep a constant eye on; checking war score isn't.

i guess this is where i disagree. i want to keep a constant eye on my war score.

Actually I'm going to have to agree, having to press tab to look at the war score is inconvenient, as it is a big part of the games play value. Why do I need to see the life value of the team citadels more than I need to see the war score? Sometimes I'm waiting for that next rank to upgrade something, but its a bit off and I have forgotten about it and missed the upgrade getting it a bit later. If it was right on the HUD the chances I will forget about it are a lot less likely.

Having to press tab is not a 'chore' like some of the ignorant posts are suggesting, its just less convenient that it being directly on the HUD where it should be.

If my post suggests it is a chore to press tab you seriously have an issue of over reading things.

Warscore is a very important aspect of the match that should be available on screen all the time. I can easily time walking back to the base for upgrades. Why so many of you are against convenience is mind blowing to me.

  • How is the increase in Warscore per second per flag calculated?

Well, I still do not know the answers to those questions.

810 is right. 1620 is warrank 3, 7290 is warrank 10.
I'm sure of these 2 - I need to know when to buy gold and giants ;).

BTW: Yeah, sometimes citadel shows different war score than tab (tab war score is always correct).
Probably war score counting in citadel is bugged.

Hm, well in the Citadel, the warscore is at 1500 when you reach warrank 3. And later in the game at warrank 10 the difference is even bigger. So maybe it's 750 with respect to the Warscore in the Citadel? Anyway, it's confusing, the devs should clearify on that :)

Some things modifying rate

#War Score per hero level.  HeroLevel * WarScorePerHeroLevel is granted to that team when the hero dies.

    WarScorePerHeroLevel = 1,

    # WarScore multiplier for flag control

    FlagControlMultiplier = 2,

    # Percent of flags required for minor flag control multiplier

    FlagControlMinorFlagPercent = 0.6,

    # WarScore multiplier for minor flag control

    FlagControlMinorMultiplier = 1.5,

    # WarScore multiplier based on how many flags you have, ex. FlagNumberMultiplier/10 flags = multiplier of 1

    FlagNumberMultiplier = 9,

Thx for that :). This should answer all questions.
