Stardock is in Michigan?!?

Stardock is in Michigan?!?

I was just curious to see where Stardock was located (for some reason I thought it was East Coast) -- and it seems as if Stardock was founded in and headquartered in Michigan. That's my home state and where I live now! :D

I'm so excited if this is true. Keep up the hard work. I'm glad to know there's some cool software companies here that are doing games. This doubles my support of the company.

Sorry if this should be in off topic, I didn't quite know where to put it because it is Stardock related but not necessarily integral to Demigod as a topic.

Anyway, cheers.

Also Michigan is cool. For one reason.

Just wait until the zombies invade. You'll wish you were near the great lakes so you could own a Zombie Escape Yacht (ZEY) like me. I'll be getting a tan, eating cheetohs and drinking rum while the rest of the world burns.

Suckers!

Piffle. Since zombies are dead, they'll generate no body heat. They'll freeze long before they ever get to me when I'm back in Alaska.

As for temperature, try Fairbanks, Alaska. It's not unheard of to have a 90 degree F summer, and -50 degree F winter.

We've had -40 windchills in Minnesota here this winter. Not very often, though. 90 degrees in the summer is nothing. I went to Las Vegas once in July (kids, big mistake) and it was 115-120 degrees at *night* for the whole week we were there.

-50 before windchill. X(

Windchill drops it another 30 degrees. Protip: Don't go out without a jacket.

Cold isn't bad without wind though, as long as you're covered up. It's the wind that makes cold utter crap :P

I suppose complaining about the 110 degree weather we get in central CA is an option?  And the bitterly cold 50 or so (F) winters?

I lived in San Francisco for 7 and a half years, and in Santa Cruz for another 4.. what the hell did you people do to that place to get *that*? Not like I was far off from Central CA..

San Francisco isn't central CA, it's on the coast.  I'm the in the San Juaquine (SP) valley.

I am very proud to be working for Stardock, which I consider to be the best software/game development company in Michigan (not that there's much competition :p).

Zombies don't swim, thats a myth. Nor do they walk along the bottom.

Trust me, I've researched this! You are all safest if you come to Michigan and buy a ZEY

You underestimate the power of zombie sharks!  Humans aren't the only ones who can turn into zombies you know.  Hasn't anyone here ever played Resident Evil? :p

Wow, I live in Michigan too... what do you know, this state is actually good for something.  You have given me one reason to be glad to say I live in Michigan now... to bad there are still about 50,000 reasons to hate living in this state. ;-/

Bara, don't be silly. There are no sharks in the great lakes! Therefore, your ZEY is safe from potential zombie sharks.  The worst we'll have to watch out for are Zombie bass and Zombie zebra mussels.

My plan = foolproof.

And Robocop was filmed in Dallas Texas. Robocop 2 in Houston.

Michigan is great if you like seasonal outdoor activities, and the crazy ass weather gives you excuses to stay in and play video games.

You guys don't know weird weather until you come to Colorado. In the same day it can go from 5 degrees in the morning, to 70 around 12, and back to 5 with an inch of snow on the ground by 6:00.

You can get 80-90 degree days in the middle of January, or 5 inches of snow in mid-June.

On top of it all (and this is a fact you never stop hearing if you come visit) Denver gets more sunny days than Miami or any of those cities in California. What they don't mention is that on many of those days, it is 2 degrees outside.

Continuing the list of strange Colorado weather:

  • Thundersnow - Lighting + snowstorm
  • Raining/snowing when the sun is out
  • Blizzards (although I will grant you that they aren't as bad here as they are in other places)
  • Occasional tornados
  • golf-ball sized hail
  • 1 foot of snow can melt in under 5 hours (seriously, all of it will be gone except a couple of shady places)

On the plus side, we alwasy have an outdoor activity for any weather. Although a lot of us do them when most people don't consider normal times. You should try going out for a run when there is an inch of snow on the ground, with a windchill of -10, and another inch of snow falling every hour. It's actually surprisingly fun.

Not that any of you probably care about any of that.
