Can't download the new patch

I noticed the tray icon had something on it, so I tried to update, and got the same error. Launched it, and it gives a message about having to update.

Also tried restarting impulse, which had no effect.

Bloody hell, DO NOT try to Cancel and restart it. 'The installed version of Demigod cannot be updated. Please uninstall this version before attempting to get the newest version.'

Yeah. I hope they'll fix it soon. But I think It's nighttime in the states, so maybe they're applying the patch or something. Guess I'll work soon

Yeah, I have the same problem. It's about 5 am over here in the states. It won't let me play the game without updating either.

This is a total bummer.... oh look there is a kitty above me!

Can we actually get a Stardock Person to look at this error, this game is getting frustratingly annoying. Patches that dont work, a messy week-end were nothing was working, yet the pirates get to play this game with out problems.

Nice going guys, you lot are seriously messing things up, if this were EA we'd probably be burning the building by now, but come on, this type of thing should not be happening, dont you guys test this stuff??? I want this bug fixed NOW, not tomorrow NOW.

Same problem

It's 2am here.  I'm sure, being human, and having lives/families, most if not all of SD is at home sleeping (except that one employee that only plays the vampire demigod).  IF it is truely on the server, it's only been up a couple hours, and/or they just have not got it up for full downloading yet (perhaps they thought "Hey, it's 2am, do you think we can slip that patch in NOW while our customers are sleeping and they'll never notice the downtime?").

I read a reply on a different post saying we need to wait until Impulse is updated.

While I understand and share your frustration, keep in mind that it's 2 in the morning at the Stardock offices, and that Brad and co. were at work until ~midnight playtesting the game and getting the patch up.  If something went wonky after they left, well, I'd feel pretty bad about telling them to go back in at that hour.

That said, I'll be a hell of a lot happier when the damned game works most of the time.  In fact, I will probably disappear from these forums entirely, which I now haunt, looking for updates to problems I face in the game

On that note, anyone responded to the fact that the game dies if DG doesn't have focus when a multiplayer game starts?

i'm sure they know they have international customers in different timezones and didn't think that As quickly as it was removed after the unexpected download size error i'm sure they're working on it.

Temporary solution: Right-click on the game in Impulse, press "cancel update", then right-click again and press "run game". So you can play at least

I think they will fix the problem soon...

Ironically, It's been more trouble trying to get this DRM free game running then it was for me to get GTA IV running.  Oh well, I guess it was all done with good intentions, which counts for something.
