Anti Virus Death of Tassox33

Is there a way to get around the Anti Virus programs people are running? Or is the only way to speed up the game ( if this is the problem) to get them to turn it off?

No problems with AVG.  Plus AVG has a custom ignore/exception list.  And it's free.

Norton and Mcafee suck big time.

I have avast, and I can't figure out if it has an effect on Demigod or not Most likely it doesn't but can't hurt to test it out. I don't know how to shut it off.

Eh, I doubt it would solve anything.

Yeah, Norton and McAfee can suck my big male genitals. AVG is free, but I find it to be more of a resource hog than BitDefender. Not free, but very convenient and I have had a great experience with it. Game/Laptop Mode works very nicely with gamers, and the Ignore/Exceptions list is also very handy.

Well, there really isn't anything you can do if someone is too stupid to turn off their anti-virus.

Not only is AVG a resource hog, it is also prone to false positives.

I subscribe to McAfee, but I'm on the verge of uninstalling it and looking for something else.  It's the most intrusive thing I've ever had anything to do with.   I sometimes play webgames at www.popcap.com and McAfee has a heart attack when I do.  You have to install something in your browser (don't remember what) but as soon as I do it, McAfee simply shuts down IE without warning, regardless of the fact that the site tells you up front what they're doing and to click a button to confirm it.  I have to shut all of the protections off to access the site.

Annoying.

Use AVG, Best one right now/

Actually... use Avast. It's also free and has far more features than AVG has. You can find it on Download.com. I use to use AVG but stopped because of the false positives and resource hogging, atm, I think Avast is the best. Try it out.

End of Dracil's quote

but more importantly; it has a truck load of false negatives. to be brutally honest; AVG will only detect things if they're painted with a big red bulls-eye, and dance about in front of it with placards saying "delete me!"

if you want a good, free AV then try Avira AntiVir. the lowest i've seen my sim speed is +6 (and i was faffing about in the console and broken the game to do that!).

i have the latest norton and it doesn't effect demigod but it is a major  powerdrain

I use McAfee and haven't had the slightest trouble with Demigod or any other game.

Usually, they'll be running in the system tray, and a simple right click will proffer options like Turn off automatic protection/fulltime protection etc.

I Use Avast but with network and standard sheild only.

I guess people in the forums responding to this migt be in the larger % of users who know not to run anti virus while playing demigod, probably a biased question on the foums.

According to av-comparitives.org, AntiVir is where it's at - better than AVG, Avast!, et al.  It's also what I started using when AVG couldn't get rid of a nasty bug I had a couple months back.  AntiVir handled it no problem.
