1v1
It sucks, stop putting me in 1v1 games against Rook.
Thanks.
1v1 against Rook? Personally I think Rook is the weakest DG in 1v1 by far. He's very easy to kill if he's not near his tower farm, so at most he can only control one flag, giving you free control over the rest.
Rook is one of my primary characters, and I can tell you that above all he's a defender. He's no good at flag capturing or hunting down other demigods. He's about pushing and preventing the enemy from pushing. On its own, that won't win a game if you're winning the battle in terms of war score. If you're cautious not to run head-first into a tower farm, he's also very unlikely to score kills until he's a higher level and has good equipment.
he can be quite strong in the 2v2 map (cant remember the name) but thats because he can make presure in the narrow ways and u cant just run around him ![]()
Crucible? Yeah, Rook can be brutal in the mid-game on Crucible, but in 1v1 he's screwed. There's an absolutely critical gold mine flag on this map. If Rook tries to lumber down and claim it, he WILL be killed. As a result, the other player will own it by default. This is a huge gold advantage, and if Rook cannot push very early he's going to die simply to a combination of war score and income advantage that the other player has.
Well, it is possible that OP is saying that the game is boring to keep seeing rook in 1v1 and slaughter them every time.
Id just settle for not being put in 1v1's every time.
I suppose there aren't enough people on to make a 2v2 game. I see about 10 people in the custom games.
I guess people have grown tired of the problems and moved onto other games.
Let's hope that this weeks patch gives us a decent multiplayer experience and people come back. Fixed or not, the game wont work without people to play against.
Played Rook in 1 VS 1 (Sedna) yesterday. Zomg, she broke me easily, that was my first 1vs1 with rook, after won all my other games with this DG ![]()
Tower spamming is definitely weak in this type of game ![]()
Totally disagree that the rook can't hold the goldmine flag on crucible.
I had an epic game against an erebus on that and I mostly dominated that flag.
I eventually lost the game because I took a big risk (sold all my equip and upgraded from priests through to giants). I had a pretty good lead, at least 2-3 levels of war score and leading in kills by at least 2:1 margin.
Sigh, now Im getting 1v1 vs the AI. This is pathetic.
Got 4 1v1 in a row this morning then got put into a 1v0 not even an AI ![]()
Personally I dont enjoy 1v1 games at all hope this doesnt become a trend.
Quite possible; I've seen a lot of newbie hammer rooks out there. They're not bad when backing up an ally, but they're dead meat if they get caught alone.
As I said, Rook sucks at holding on to flags in 1v1. If you can't push significantly hard or the enemy isn't foolish enough to run head-first into a tower farm, you basically have no way to win.
If I could run fraps with demigod id prove everything you just said to be completely untrue, but we'll see how I do in the ESL 1v1 ladder instead.

I play as the UB and I used to be very bad 1v1 against Rooks until I learned that I was being too agressive with my attacks, and that the key to beating him is to spit, run, then spit again to wear down his health before actually getting up close.
Also, running away when the Rook raises his hammer for Hammer Slam is a good idea.
Tends to be, yes.
The thing is, Rooks are just so easy to kill when they stray too far from their tower farm. They have low armour early on so it's easy to whittle away their health. Once they're decked out with equipment things change, but early game I've yet to see a Rook who is dangerous outside of his tower farm. Of course if you're playing someone who is a noticably worse player than you that all goes out the window, but I find at equal skill Rook is just screwed in 1v1. It all comes down to whether you can make an early push and keep momentum. The moment Rook loses any momentum in a 1v1, he's effectively lost the game.
Eh...it'd be too easy to just tell you why your assumptions are wrong.
