Do people have ANY patience?

So.. I get into my third game that actually lasts long enough for a possible win or loss (I've had demigod for a week now, I play 4+ hours a day).

When the game doesn't crash people either rage quit or manage to have computers so shitty that everyone plays like a slide show (sim 4 anyone? stop buying dell computers from wal mart damn).

So, I create a game.. wait 10 minutes (mostly becase people can't sit in a room long enough to get a full 3v3 going).. and it starts.

Going good.. we start winning.. Our reg sucks so I decide to go over and help out the oak finish off people and I keep him alive.. Going good.

Reg Disconnects.

Ok... still going, oak and I are owning... still going... Enemy reg farms our bot and gets to lvl 20 while we are level 10 and 13..

About 10 more minutes of fighting, we are still managing to hold them back even though their regulus is a beast..

Oak disconnects after Reg. owns him 2-3 times in a row and we can't do anything about it (he can keep so much range and run so fast).

So, 3v1, Enemy reg keeps farming bots and GODLIKE pops up every 2 minutes for him...

Honestly, because of ONE rage quit.. the whole game was ruined.. no.. wrong.. my whole EXPERIENCE with Demigod was ruined.

I have had a terrible experience with this game.. I have had one win and one loss.. and every other game is ruined like the one above.

Yeah it gets frustrating :p

The game is still new though, I get the same with Left 4 Dead as well. You pop into some random group and one guy justs makes it one big messup for you.

When the game starts going down hill i just use it as a time to experiment, try out some different items/skill combos......

This game does take a lot of patience tho, if I have only 30mins left I just switch it off, it takes about 90mins to just get one decent game.

No.

In fact, I didn't even have the patience to read your post, I just wanted to type 'no', because it should be common knowledge to all human beings.

The rewards for killing an AI DG need to be vastly lower than what you get for killing a human DG.  Of course, you will still have the problem of really bad humans playing, but you need some kind of ladder to fix that.

yep its frustrating to say the least.

this is all balance issues and will fixed later after the connection issues are all gold.

I personally hope that people get creditied with a loss after they exit the match for whatever reason after about 5mins.

Then if the matching works properly you could do skirmish and be matched with people of appropriate skill.

All in good time.

I disagree. Different rewards wouldn't be only odd they also would switch the game strategys and aims in a way I don't see as suitable.

But I agree that AI farming is a problem. The most obvious solution would be that AI players are not allowed in multiplayer/online matches. In DotA it works like that and stupid and/or quitting players are only a problem in newb vs newb matches.

THIS.

This were proven several times last night haha.

Yes its annoying when such things happens, but its all about getting the best out of it, and i got to know some cool people because of it ;)

As it is now, it is not worth playing the moment someone quits on your team.  The AI will feed and feed and you have no hope of a comeback.  I have NEVER won in which someone on my team has quit.

Don't suffer through a garbage game.  After someone quits, you shouldn't feel bad about leaving as well.

Game moderators and a functioning Friends list should eventually help things. I know - I personally play out even a terrible scenario ( i.e. even when things don`t go my way). Call me old-fashioned, but its good sportsmanship.

Lesson learned: only play with friends on your team

As much as people will deny that the Demigod playerbase has the same bad tendancies as DoTA (leavers, etc), this is a fact of multiple team-deathmatch style games.  Especially ones that have a long match and are very team dependant.

to fix this in multiplayer mode only and if the game started with no bots if they are kilt the killer gets no xp or no gold. Also the bot can no longer give the team upgrades and they get no gold or xp so in essence they never level once a player leaves.

Wow this is irony. You're complaining about rage quitting and you left the game I was in against you the other day on may 6th. To be sure I looked up your game history and behold. You played against me and now I remember you quitting on us after feeding all of us.

There is always someone with the maturity and patience of a rabid badger on PCP in every game yes. Someone has bad ping? RAARRRRRGH! *quit* Low SIM speed? BLLLALRAFGHG! *quit* Got killed? *RRRRRRAGAAAAAAG...*aneurysm*. This is why the disconnect. Cause they died. Atleast I hope so.

But look on the bright side. Just think how bad it would be without the Xbox and Halo to draw them away.

With the weird connection issues, I've had games where people left for seemingly no reason, like when they were winning, so I'm guessing they either dropped, or something came up IRL. Often there is one player whose ping keeps spiking which causes lag for everyone for a while, but I've noticed they often drop eventually. I have to deal with crap internet, and a crap computer I can't upgrade, so my sim speed is around 5. :( However I don't seem to drop that often.

About the leavers, honestly some of us just can't be bothered to play with feeders. No matter how well you play, there's nearly nothing you can do about an enemy DG who got 15k more gold than you from farming your ally/allies.

I leave somewhat often, but I'm not one of those people who leave after just 1 death. Those people are really annoying and impatient. I only leave if someone else left/dropped, theres crazy lag, or my team has gotten several deaths and its very clear our  team is fail. Sometimes I even stay to the bitter end.

I believe Company Of Heroes handles a similar problem quite well in prominently displaying a players average sim speed and also displaying stats on win/loss/disconnect (they call disconnect disputes) within the lobby.  That lets players police it themselves.

Don't feel like giving a rage quitter a go?  Boot him out of your game

i only quit out off games if my team sucks so badly tthat they are worse then the bots

and sometimes i dc mid game

The AI is a joke and they really need to make it smarter or buff the stats on the character because once someone in your team quits, the whole game is over due to farming.

And if you did it more than 30% out of the time you'd have a disconnection ration of over .3 in which case I would not let you play in any games I hosted.

i have left about 1%  dced about 0.01%

worst case scenario ill proberly fight to the end  but if it is   a hopless battle like  3bots  and me vs 4 people i would proberly leave because it would be pointless

Just fyi, ping has nothing to do with SIM speed. SIM is mostly based on CPU, and general computer performance. Its how fast your PC can calculate everything that needs calculating in the current game. Usually the one with the worst specced PC will have the lowest SIM, and everyone else has to play the game at his pace.

The game can handle fairly high ping as well, but not unstable connections. When you get lost packets, or some router somewhere went on this lunch break, the game can stutter while the game waits for the info in those packets. (Disclaimer: these are all my assumtions, there can be other factors).

This is why you need some indication of rank for each player.  A shithawk who always quits will end up with a crappy rank and you can just boot him whenever he gets into the lobby.

In which case I would probably not boot you from any game I hosted... I don't know if I'm getting my point accross very well here...  By making the stats available and prominent, the players become able to police rage quitting themselves.

Obviously the stat's aren't going to jump right out and say "1337Boi played 200 games, disconnected 10 and rage quit 80" but if you see someone who's played 100 games, and disconnected 80 of them early it's going to be fairly obvious and those people aren't going to get as many games.

The real ideal world scenario is that they start finding it hard to get games and either wise up to why people aren't letting them in and change their ways or they bugger off and leave the community to people who are good sports
