Ingame impulse suggestions

Ok, where to begin?

If Impulse is going to be like Steam then it might as well start being like it! The friends list is useless. I don't know which games my friends are playing, and if I can join them by rightclicking and joining. I don't think they even see my messages unless they specifically shift-tab into impulse. The IRC is gimped, no way to private message someone. Why not add an ingame browser? Why not add an outside friends list where you can use impulse as an IM program?

 

Sigh, sorry about the way I wrote... I'm just dead tired and this whole impulse being gimped business is a real shame.

Impulse isn't Steam, for the record.  Just to point out, Steam came out in 2003, and didn't come out with the "Steam Community" until 2007.  That means no steam friends list, no ingame browser, no outside friends list you can use as an IM program, etc.  Impulse isn't even a year old.  Some of these features are being worked on in Demigod, like the ability to PM other players, join their games, create clans, etc., but you can't expect a brand-new content delivery system to be as full-featured as one that's six years old.
