Oak shield and erebus bite bug

Erubus is a Demigod, he doesn't need blood to get life, all he needs is hit points. The shield is allotted a certain number of hit points, all Erubus is doing is tranferring them to himself. If Erubus had to rely on blood he'd never get anything from Rooks bricky leg.

He isn't Venril Sathir, he's Erubus.

I think Psycho has a point, the idea behind the bite ability is that it 'drains' life from the opponent.   Shield isn't a number of hit points, it literally makes Oak or his ally IMMUNE to damage.   Makes me wonder if Sedna's Pounce slow effect still works if Oak has shield up.

The shield isn't immune to damage though, and it's made of micro-organisms. Oak just had a high concentration of Midi-chlorians he will into a force shield. It's all proper.

Yet another unbalance in Erebus's favor.

I think the deciding factor is that Oak is immune to damage for the duration of the shield - this should negate all damage, and since Bite is transfering health through the act of doing damage, if no damage is done then no transfer should take place.

Just my 2 cents. I really enjoy playing Erebus, however whenever I see Oak's shield go up, I step back - I never even considered that Bite would transfer health from the shield.

oaks shield  is proberly the best wep on the light side to fight erebus   he does 2quiet a bit off dmg and counters erwebus  erebus is proberly the most dangerous demi but is also proberly one of the easiest and fun

I don't think it bite gain Erebus health on Oak's shield or Queen's shield. I don't think it should slow / lower armor if either of those abilities are up either. To me it doesn't make sense... Vampire bite for blood = gain health. Vampire bite against a shield != blood so why does it heal him?

Of course, one needs to think about it more in terms of balance than flavour.

Is this a balance issue? Or just a flavour-text one? If the former, then it needs to be fixed. If the latter then it's hardly serious.

This happens with lifesteal items too.

i think the point is you shouldnt lifesteal from oak if u cant even do damage to him

I dont think he should get life back. And you shouldn't be able to get life back off of life steal.

Is Oak affected by applied debuffs when he is shielded?

I.E. does ice Rain/Max Pounce/Shrapnel mines/Regulus maim/etc debuffs stick while he is under the effects of shield?

If they do, bite should affect him as well (and the life drain should stay)

If they do not, bite should not drain life.

But that's a flavour, not balance, issue.

In multiplayer games balance should always trump flavour. Ideally both would co-exist perfectly, but that rarely happens.

i cant figure out one reason that if erebus isnt healed when oak is shielded this would make it unbalanced specialy with a skill (bite) that it is a bit imba and also a shield that lasts 3-4 seconds and oak must predict when erebus will use it or erebus canot do it if he see him shielded.

i didnt know about life stealing items if its true then it surely must be fixed for them too.There is also an item that can make u imune for 5 seconds my guess is it will be the same situation there too.

Erebus bites a shielded oak, oak takes damage, but oak is immune to damage, erebus still did damage, erebus is healed.

Wow, erebus is getting hit pretty hard considering three aspects of bite are getting nerfed (mana, damage, armor) AND now you guys are pushing for biting shields to not even heal the guy.  I guess I wouldn't be bothered if imbalances with other characters were also going to be corrected.  Sedna's ridiculous regen comes to mind.

hmm her regen is a bit high but no one considers it because they didn't die by it
