I can understand the networking issues, what I can't understand is the lack of an option to resign.

Love the game, have since launch. Like I said in the title, I can understand the unforseen networking issues. Perhaps a big open MP beta should have been done first but I don't mind the chance to play to test. I would have bought the game either way.

However, what I don't get is the lack of the option to "resign" from a game and a reasonable set of consequences that follow a resignation. For instance in WC3, you can resign and then see the scoreboard at that time of your leaving and so forth. Everyone gets the message you bowed out and your "stuff" is entrusted to your team mates.

As it is now "player has left the game" means you might have resigned, your computer blew up, or you lost the connection. Now, your team mates are left with an AI that will feed  the opponents. Also, when you quit you don't get the scoreboard snapshot to review your contributions to the game at that point.

I just don't get why this aspect of the game is not a little more robust. It seems unfinished in what is otherwise a pretty detailed game.

You shouldn't resign from a game.

quitting should let you see your score, etc.  after another team leaves, i just leave if i'm left fighting bots.  i'd like to see the scoreboards when i do so.

Would you be generous enough to grant us, obtuse minds, an elaborate explanation of your dogmatic edict ?

I think a team vote based resign option should be available, and that any game that goes from all humans to humans on one side vs. all AI ought to end right away in victory for the human team.

I don't actively dislike playing AI, but my team once made both members of a 2v2 team ragequit in 6 min, 24 seconds, so the whole rest of the game was just a 2 AI comp stomp.

Well there are only two options available when you resign: either your own team will be one Demigod short, or your team will receive an inferior AI player. None of which is desirable.

And the whole enemy team suddenly quitting or resigning isn't desirable either, since this is very unsatisfying for the "winning team".

Or, as in WC3, the remaining team mates just take over for the guy who left.

Click on your DG, you get your UI. Click on the dude-who-left-the-game's DG, and you get the UI for that DG. When you have your DG selected, you see all your spells, talent tree, gear and then when you select the other DG it all just switches to his spells, etc.

Seems simple to me.

Hm, yeah ok, that might work ;).

Personally, I'd just like games to end as they should when there's a team of only AI left.

I've posted a wish to the beta forum a while back:

I'm still hoping they will create this in one of the coming patches

i like to quit in the middle of games ruining it not only for my teammates but for the opposing team as well, the scoreboard should come up afterwards so i can see what i have and what i won't be contributing anymore.

thx
