used to be able to play, post-5/11 patch i only get "Waiting for connection" :(

I know the patch broke things for a lot of people, but i'm still posting here because 

 

  1. I don't actually see anyone complaining about "Wainting for connections" - the 5/11 patch seems to be causing all sorts of errors but not this one...  i on the other hand ALWAYS get this error and ONLY this error
  2. The known problem is supposedly only applicable to custom games - I am getting this message in pantheon, skirm and custom

 

My DG version says .0113

I was 100% able to play before the patch.  I'm running 64 bit vista home pro.

Also, this might be nothing, and I'm not sure but I think vista had snuck in a system update the same date the patch was out which messed with the firewall -- i saw 2 "Unblock" dialogs pop-up even though I turned off my vista firewall. I made sure that the firewall is still completely off and no more such dialogs have popped up since.

 

Any ideas? Life is scary and uncertain in this post 5/11 world. :hugme:

Do you mean that when you click 'Connection Info' when connecting to a custom game you get 'Waiting for Connection Data' indefinately? If so, I also get that since the May 11th patch. I'm on Win7 64 but have Windows Firewall disabled.

I'm pretty confident that Stardock will resolve this but a little worried that I can't spot if Frogboy has acknowledged this issue in the Demigod Journals.

And yeah it's when I click 'Connection Info'

I am also having the same issue of once joining a game, Skirmish, Pantheon, or Customer Game that it just hangs at joining.  Clicking on the Connection Information just leaves the message Waiting for Connection Data.  Never had this problem prior to the 5/11 patch.

Nope, Just made it worse, I COULD see the people in the waiting list before, now just "WAITING FOR CONNECTION"....

Wtf today's patch (thursday may 14) broke the game for me too, I can't even see the names of the people when I try to join a custom game. It just stays stuck on "waiting for connection data".

Thursday's patch actually DID fix this for me :)

 

One thing: Back when it was not working I started messing with ImpulseReactorOptions.exe out of desperation, manually assigning ports. I had to undo that before my game started working again (5/14 patch).
