What do you want to happen now?

Everyone is aware that there are big networking problems.  It’s a very frustrating situation because the game itself is so much fun and some people can’t play it at all while the majority of the rest seem to have a very painful time connecting to games.  Everyone’s frustrated, and if you bought this game you have a legitimate reason to be upset.  That said, I’d like to make an appeal for people to just think about what it is you really want to happen before throwing a tantrum.

The network problems were a surprise at launch.  With 20/20 hindsight vision some can probably come up with things that could have been done differently – as I’m sure Stardock and GPG have already done.  The fact of the matter though is that it is what it is and screaming about what should have been done isn’t helpful, or productive or beneficial to anybody or anything.  Given that things are how they are right now, I’ll repeat the question “what do you want to happen now?”

The dev team has acknowledged the problems and have worked almost every waking hour non-stop to try and fix them.  As frustrated as you are that you can’t get your game to work right can you imagine how frustrated they are? They’re devoting every ounce of effort they can muster to try and resolve these issues.

If you’ve bought this game there is no doubt you have a legitimate gripe at this point, but before you throw a tantrum just ask yourself what you want to happen.  The devs are working as hard as humanly possible, and will eventually get everything ironed out – which is exactly what I want to happen.  You also have an option to get a refund if this is not acceptable to you.  The only thing throwing a tantrum does is make things unpleasant for everyone.

You’re valid in being upset.  You’re valid to feel like the game should work when it was launched.  You’re valid to feel frustrated after trying for two hours to unsuccessfully join a game.  However, if everything possible is being done to try and get you to where you want to be, including the option of a full refund, save the tantrums for the toddlers.  What exactly is it you want?  If your answer includes a magic wand then maybe  you’ll like yourself better if you refrain from just trying to make people’s lives less enjoyable.

I love this game, and I've been able to play well enough for 3 weeks.  As far as I can tell, networking is substantially improved.  That's awesome and a tremendous achievement.

What do I want?  I want better UI for ingame and matchmaking, and more demigods.  That's all.  If the networking now works at a B+ level, then I would love for the team to polish this A+ game core to an actual A+ shine.  Cause the game gets in it's own way a lot, and all I want is a big stable community so I can play this for a good long time.

I think of few of the other presentation-holes need to be filled.

Functioning statistic updates to the website (ingame account page would be so much more professional though), 2v2/3v3/4v4 pre-determined games, with oft-occuring elimination or round-robin style tournmanents, and the ability to set a game mode to radomnly select all players' heroes.

That seems like a big list but it's certainly a fraction of the effort that was required to take care of connectivity issues, and they're all related to the presentation/variety column.

What the fuck does tl; dr mean?  It looks like something those idiots at 4chan would come up with.

"Too long; Didn't read."

I did read it though, and I remain nuetral on the topic, other than I cannot connect again after the may 14th patch.
