Ready to buy yet?

I'd suggest waiting for the release of the demo, whenever that is. At that point, I'd think the network issues would be resolved enough to actually start marketing the game. I can't see them releasing the demo beforehand and reliving the launch nightmare again.

I think Ahiodsohi gave sound advice.  I'd say the game is not quite there yet, they're still resolving a lot of the online connectivity issues, and there's still a lot that needs to be fleshed out.  I'd wait if money is a concern.

I've played the single player heavily, though, and I can tell you that when it IS ready, it's probably going to be a blast!  I'm anxious.

Right now multiplayer doesnt work for a lot of people.

Pantheon is broken for nearly everyone. Its a good call to buy it - But keep in mind that MP needs some more work to play it properly and with joy

A few days ago multiplayer worked for me and my friends - We where able to play with dozens of people online.

The title is fun and its a nice game to play on a longer term.

the connectivity is not so broken, for many people it works just fine, but indeed some are still experiencing difficulties. it is hard to tell how many people have connection issues, since those that doesn't have a problem don't tell a thing, and some people think that the update of the netcode should allow them to play with a shitty connection.

All i can say is that stardock/gpg are working hard on demigod, and will continue (and those are not the words of a fanboy^^).

I, OTOH, feel that my money was well spent and I have had many a happy moment playing this game online. Sure, there have been some frustrations as well, but on the whole I'd say that the net effect has been very positive.

Well, I've had very few problems with online. It seems to be very hit or miss at times. As things are now, the game might work fine for you, or it might not work at all. Personally, my online experience with the game has been generally positive since I first bought my copy, so I can't really complain too much. There are the few games where people end up dropping randomly, and how long it takes to actually get a game started, but that's a small speedbump.

Basicly, if it works, the game's fun enough to warrant the buy, but if it doesn't, quite simply, you're better off waiting for the kinks to (finally) get fixed.

I too was in your boat, until I took the plunge this weekend. I'd have to say that I'm very happy that I did. Yeah, there are some bugs, but I've never had major connection issues (www.portforward.com), and It's a blast to play.

P.S. The most annoying bug is that I get huge performance issues when I play with the sound on, but this is a well known bug, and the devs are working on it.
