You need to check on the web site of the manufacturer of your graphics card to get the latest updated drivers for it.  Download and install the drivers and reboot.

Did you make sure your video card and other system components met the requirements to run the game?  If you did and know the video card you have then go to the card makers site and update your drivers.

what graphics card do you have?

You can find out by this method - How can I find out which graphics card I have?

As I mentioned in the PM, updating the driver can be tricky if you don't know what you are doing. The wrong one can damage the card and your monitor.

Take my advice and get someone who knows how to do this properly and have them show you.

The specs on your computer should list the type (name) of your graphics card. Go to the manufacturers website. Download the driver update for your graphics card or......contact the computer manufacturer by phone and ask!

Please post a dxdiag report. You can do so by:

Click Start->Run-> type in dxdiag and click OK.

Once it finishes, click the Save All button, give it a name, then open that file up in Notepad, copy+paste everything to pastebin.com or similar, and post the link here (please do not paste the report directly here as very long texts like that can make the page difficult to read).

right click on your desktop background and choose properties

click the'settings' tab

right in the middle it should say something like:

Display:

Plug and Play Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

if not, click the 'advanced' button

then, you should see a tab for your video card - it should have the name of the card on the tab

If you have Ccleaner installed, it will tell you at the top which video card you have, along with CPU and amount of RAM.  From this info you can then go to the manufacturers site and download the appropriate drivers.
