1 simple little change: Red text or Green PLEASE!

So, you finally got into a game of DG; you playing along, when it says "Xmfortmpler47 assisted by Bygeorgeism2 killed Grothomean878".  Unleass you've played with ALL the players in that game several times before, you often wonder "Was that a good message, or bad?"; Did we kill one, or did they kill us???".

If the text color of a message was green when your team got the kill; and red when someone on you team was killed, that SURE would go a long way in my book to help decifer what some of those messages mean that flash durring the heat of battle.

That sounds like a reasonable addition. However, this really should go even one step further. I am not personally colorblind, but I know many gamers who are. Red and Green are not (so I understand) easy to distingush from one another for a person who is colorblind.

Perhaps a 'cheering' and 'booing' audio indicator could be established as well. This would kind of play to the whole... tournament aesthetic of the game.

As somebody who is color deficient (because I swear I get red and green correct most of the time), it would be cool to be able to set the rgb values of each thing similiar to what WoW interface allows you to do. Another cool thing would be to have a score keeper box:

KILLS:

|------------|------------|

| Friendlies | Enemies |

| Alex2 | Bob1 |

| Alex2 | |

| Alex2  | |

|------------|------------|

  6 Kill(s) |   1 Kill(s)

This would allow me as a player to better strategize who I should attack on the opponent side or who I should holp defend on my side. I also think that at random intervals with random probability based on number of deaths, a bounty should be added to players to try and add incentive to killing otherwise hard targets.

Yes, Paladin, great idea. And Abbott, I agree. Some accompanying audio notification would be helpful too.

Good idea. The same thing schould be applied to chat messages! Because

  • the white text is often hard to read anyway
  • and it's hard to see at a glance if it is an allied or public message

Ya, the chat is very hard to read, and you can't tell easily/quickly if it's an important message from an alli, or a joke from the opposing team.  Also, it pops on/off so fast, you have almost no time to read it.

Another problem along the same lines is that the announcer (who I LOVE) says the same things, with the same excitment, regaurdless of whether your team made the kill, or the other team did.  You think he'd say (with a sadder tone) "You were pwnd" or such when someone on your team dies.  As it is now, you try to read the pale white text to see who killed who; you can't; you listent to the announcer for some info/input, and he's all excited regaurdless (You just lost 2 of your demigods, SMITER! Is'nt that great!"); so I usually have to hit TAB and see who's dead in the team listings.  At least Tab works well.

I agree with the scoreboard idea, a nice small scoreboard would be handy with the names of the demis on each side.  Also a chat box would have been nice similar to MMO's instead of a giant text board of sorts that dissapears really fast and is hard to read sometimes.  These things could be easily improved upon to make a much nicer game IMO.

This one would be one of those little additions that make you smile, because they make life easier.

Nice.

I'm colour blind, and Red and Green are fairly easy to tell apart. I have trouble with similar colours, like white on grey or different shades of red. Sometimes its hard to read the chat when it appears over the white floor on levels like Catalact. But there are other kinds of colour blindness too.

I'd like the announcer to become really really REALLY mad at people that die.

"Oh my Demigod, you SUCK!"

And the other team should get "Congratulations, the forces of light have a feeder!"
