how does Lord get more than 2 high presists or bishops?

I just played a guy with 4 of them but It only allows me to buy 1 idol (so 2 high presists or 2 bishops)

Hi,

I was wonder if there is an item I have to buy to get an extra 2 high presists or biships.  The guy I was playing against had 2 high bishops and 2 high presists and I tried it but it only allows you to buy 1 IDOL to fil the slot.  So I was wondering how he got 4 of them if you can only get 1 idol either the bishops or the high presits?

Thanks

Also I know you can get 2 other idols, archers or whatever but this wasn't the case, he had 4 of those fat looking guys and they would heal him constantly + his bite he was pretty unstopable

Yep - the downside to the buy/sell idol strat is that if you lose your minions, you've lost money.  I'll only (ab)use it if I'm upgrading idols anyways, but some players will stack on a set of minions of each rank and lead an army of 20+ minions into battle.  Works great, until TB fire novas them all into oblivion and they realize they're out 1000g.

Dont do that...its cheating.

Although I won't disagree its cheeseness, and won't allow players to do such in my game (ok, so I can't stop them, but I will remember them and never let them in after that), it isn't considered "cheating" yet.  Stardock (as  far as I know) has not put out an official statement as to whether or not they intended it or not.

EDIT: I let 2 sets slide.  Even I do that, but I am doing a legit upgrade.  Nothing wrong with summoning your lesser priests when you are going to sell them and buy better ones, as long as you aren't going to keep repeating it, it's fine.  Wouldn't be fair to someone who hasn't had their priests die yet and buys a new one, doing it completely legit.  It's the people who end up summoning an army of 24 minions from idols and then get their talented armies of about 15 or so (Oak and Erebus) that really piss me off.  40 minions is and never was meant to be, I don't care how you look at it.  It is just too powerful against single target DGs, which is most of em.

Stardock has stated in a similar thread that this behaviour is not intended and people shouldn't rely on it as a "working tactic" as it's likely to be changed/fixed.

Summons should stay when sold, but go away if a same-type idol is used. Keeping your sold summons is a very nice high-risk high-reward strategy to employ early on, with the risk of getting demiowned and set back 5 minutes if you let them stray too far out for a second.

its not cheating. its a valid tactic. its not even cheesy. buy->summon->sell is essentially like taking the minions as a consumable item rather than a permanent piece of equipment. if they get killed you won't be able to get them again until you go back to the shop and buy the idol again. you also won't get your money back. its no different than a health potion.

this is where you got it wrong. it's an exploit and therefore not valid. it's going to be fixed, so ask yourself why that is the case... :|

tell me exactly when and where Gas Powered Games has declared that this is not working as intended or that they have any plans to change it?
