Oh noes, Shield+HoL

Oh, look, shield can be cast on other demigods and HoL is extremely popular. Every demigod can do this.

Furthermore, 6 seconds of HoL is 1800 hp/mana. This is like shielding someone and them using a potion. By the time you can reasonably access the 6 second shield, 1800 is under 50% of peoples' hp.

Yes, the combo is still powerful. Just keep the facts in mind when ranting about it.

You are correct sir.

Considering Sedna's top heal is 1.5k and SPENDS mana, I don't personally feel 1.8k health  1.8k mana is anything to sneer at. :)

However:

1. Sedna's heal has a cooldown of just 7 sec or probably just 5 sec through magnificent presence.

2. Shield + HoL triggers 2 cooldowns. After Sedna has healed she can still use her HoL.

-> comparing with Sedna's heal makes little sense, if any.

The fact still remains that 1800 health/mana is a pretty significant amount.  Fights are often won and lost by tiny scraps of health and mana.  A big chunk like 1800 is enough to really turn the tides.

Both shield and heart remain very powerful abilities separately, they just happen to have this great synergy when used in conjunction.

Sure, it can change the tide. But then many abilities change the tide. Shield+HoL is great, but not some overwhelming advantage (like the sentiment around here seems to be).

One health pot, although you'd take damage while using it, will take less time to use and will heal 3k instead of 1800.  Of course, if you heal as soon as you're 3k down you're good, but this would only apply to late game.  Early on, I get what you mean.  :|

HOWERVER, as unclean beast, if you use foul grasp when he shields, it cancels it out and shield is usually down by time foul grasp is done!  That's another reason I love UB.

Couldn't you also get the favor item that gives you the 200 hp a second for 10 second heal with Hol & Shield for even more hp back during the Shield ?

I tried that HP item when beta patch went in and everyone had 9million favour, it works amazingly great, because I don't think it breaks on attack or even being attacked, don't remember which but there was something very rediculous about it.

potions have a channelling time, can be interrupted, and you cannot attack or move while channeling a potion. they do however recover MORE health and mana than the full 10 seconds from HoL.

the reason why Shield and HoL seems abusive is because you get to keep fighting (in invulnerable God Mode) while you're recovering a gigantic amount of health+mana.

what alot of people don't realize is that even though you can't damage or debuff a Shielded Demigod you can still stun and interrupt them. please do so if you see them activate a HoL.

my opinion is that its not imbalanced or problematic at all. its one of the more clever strategies in the game and players should be rewarded for being clever.
