Greatest hitpoints + health regen for unclean beast?

Comment on what I already have perhaps?

Hi guys,

I was wondering what a good build for unclean beast is for hit points + hit point regen.

I use the OOZe build, basically I get spit and ooze, but I don't get any manna items and only focus on hp + hp regen items which seems to work out pretty good, the initial spit helps a ton even though I run out of mana pretty fast but as soon as they start attacking me its game over if they don't run after the initial spit.

So what I get from level 1 is:

Blood of the Fallen: Favor item

Banded Armor

Then I save up for the following in this order:

Boots of Speed

Hauberk of Life

Unbreakable Boots  (i'll get these first sometimes depending if I have to go back to get health/mana sooner)

I get the armor right above GOD PLATE (I can't remember the name of it) but it gives me a lot of armor and +20 health per second.

Then if I have enough spare money I'll buy slayer wraps and thats basically it and I spend the rest on getting cid upgrades.  If we are really owning and other people are helpingon cid upgrades I'll sell the Boots of Speed and get the Journey Man Boots which also gives health rtegen and a ton of speed.

I think by end game I'm usuallly around ~7k health and my health regen is super fast but I'm sure this is not the best build.

Can any of you guys recommend a better build for me to get max health + health regen?

Also if I'm in trouble what items do you recommend?  Is it worth getting that one item that will make you turn to stone + getting heart of life?  Can you get those 2 or only 1?  I can imagine if I fire off the heart of life (that gives you health + mana) then fire off the item that turns you into stone + all the hp regen it would help a lot.

Thanks.

Why get better health as UB?

UB has massive natural armor as he goes up in level. I personally feel Armor + Life is more important than Life + Regen for UB.

eg: Consider Scale Mail vs Banded Armor

At level 1 Banded is the better choice.

At level 5: Scale Mail gives UB 5 more effective hit points. (not a whole lot, but you see the trend right?)

At level 20: Scale Mail gives UB 400 more effective HPs over Banded Mail.

Summary: Items with + Armor and + Health are more beneficial to UB if your goal is to stay in battle longer to deliver dammage.

eg: At level 20, Nimoth Chest Armor and Groffling Warplate leave UB with a deceptive 5290 Life, but it is effectively 11700 when dammage reduction is considered (add acclimation reduction and LOL).

LOrd, thanks for the responce but the reason I pick health regen item is because I use OOZE, and OOZE takes -40 health a second, but also does damange and makes hte attacker atttack 40% less of the time.  So when it comes 1v1 battles they either stay and die or run away its quite effective.

For ooze and UB especially I would go health.  And, I'm sorry Lord, but armor as UB completely stinks.  UB has low health which makes him vulnerable to burst damage.  A 1050 fireball will still do 1050 damage (even though it shouldn't really, might get patched at some point) even if you have 4,000 armor or -300 armor.  This includes all demigod spells.

You mention HoL at the end, obviously it's awesome.

I would suggest looking into Narmoth's Ring. Fair bit better for UB than Platemail of the Crusader (which is the one above Godplate that I think you were referring to). Health instead of armour, life steal instead of a very low chance of getting heals (does anyone know if you get life steal on Ooze damage?), little bit cheaper, and no wasted minion stats. You might be able to skip Hauberk of Life too, with Narmoth's - 20 HPS and 12% life steal is avera nice.

I'm not sure if Orb of Veiled Storms would be good for this build or not, but I'd suggest giving it a try.

If you go ooze I almost never get heart of life, I find I just don't need it because I'm stacking health anyway, but this greatly depends on map size. (I mostly do Cataract and the base is pretty close by so I don't usually get HoL)  I'd definately not combo it with the orb of defiance though, it takes up 2 slots, (you'd have to give up tele scrolls or flag caps, which are both essential imo) and by the time orb of defiance has ended a good team will have another guy port or run up to you and you will get ganked when it ends.  Orb of defiance is better on a harder map as they won't gank you as fast, but it would still take up a critical spot.

You miss the point, allow me to explain more since what I said wasn't self-explanatory for your total build when you are asking what more you can do for item manpulation.

There are still the + regen health items in other categories you will buy (because there are no other +armor items). You will still buy the normal + life items at the start of the match because as I demonstrated they don't help much early on. As you get better + life items, you swap out the banded armor and hauberk for the equivalent + armor/life items (sell/buy).

You will be down a little life (as mentioned "power" skills still penetrate armor) hardly any regen, but your resistance to normal damage is through the roof. So the value of your regen and healing is higher.

Some possible example:

Blood of the fallen
Banded
Wand of Speed
Scaled Helm
Unbreakable Boots
Hauberk
Slayer Wrap
Heart of Life
Sell Scaled Helm get Theurgist Cap
Sell Banded, get Nimoth
Sell Huaberk, get Groffling

Well, I got a little confused as you said the scalemale armor at level 20 gives 400 more hitpoints than banded armor, which doesn't really make sense because you'd never have scalemail at that level.  It seems like you're justyfying an armor/health combo endgame which I can somewhat agree with, but once again at this point all power skills will be in the 1500 range.  It depends on what demigod I'm fighting, but I'd rather have 7k health and tons of regain than 5k health and tons of armor most of the time.
