Rage Quitter BAN list - An Idea

Hello there,

I've been playing Demigod now for the past week and I must say that I've enjoyed it. I've enjoyed everything but the ragers. Now, I know what you're saying - "Hey Hudson, every game has rage quitters," and to you sir or madam, I agree. Knowing that however does not keep me from wanting to nuke the person's home while laughing in the ashy aftermath.

Here is my humble proposal:

There is a good number of people who are actively playing Demigod. Yet, that number has not hit such a high that the average Joe can't keep peace in their own way. As anyone who has recently been on can tell, it's a rare time that the active game list even has a scroll bar. This means there are roughly a handful of active games going at any one time.

Since GPG and Stardock obviously have their hands busy and probably haven't began to tackle a functioning Rage Quit Ban List, I say we do it ourselves as a community. All it takes is a pad of paper and a pencil. Simply keep it next to your computer and write them down as you go. Figure out your own rules for the list. For example:

1.) Unexpected quit gets a name on the list.

2.) Next game I find myself in a lobby with named person, I give them another chance. If they play through the whole game they are given a break and a mark is made by their name. I'll allow them to join me another time.

3.) If they fail to stay in the game, they are banned from any game I'll make in the future.

It's as simple as taking a name down and sticking to keeping these people out of your games.

Anyways, I've actively been doing this. I will continue to do this until eventually Demigod has its own system.

No. This is a terrible idea, causing anger and grief and separating the community and playerbase that should be collectively working together for a better gaming experience.

Banlists have been brought up and shot down about a dozen times now.....

If the game was fuinished and functioning I bet there would be less 'quiters'.. the netcode problems are not helping the situation.

Okay, so a ban list seperates the community, yet being constantly forced to find a new game or play against the computer benefits it?

I understand that the game is bugged to all get out still, and that every case of someone dropping mysteriously shouldn't be written off as spite, but let's be reasonable. Without consequence people who have nothing to lose run wild.

Regardless, I will be continuing my ban list. If you want a good fight, look me up.

It's unfortunate, but neccesary.

If not a banlist, I would like a friendlist with the following features:

* Color coding of contacts

* Visible color coding of contacts even in the lobby

* Notes saving on contacts

* Visible tool-tip on contacts in the lobby

I know I've made topics in favour of rage quitting, but there are lots of ways to behave badly.

So, at least I would like to mark people who I've encountered and behaved badly to me with, for example, red and a note as to why, so I can freely choose to continue or leave the game. And also, people who were great teammates could be marked green.

Or perhaps even more extreme, a star system or a karma system for contacts? (Shared between players, even?)
