Help with Crucible strategy plz...

Loving the game, absolutely fantastic fun but...

I can't seem to get past the central bottleneck area on the Crucible arena, I play Rook as I'm still learning the ropes and I find I dont last more than 2 mins with the other characters. On Crucible I just seem to get a never ending tug of war over that central area and the two flags/gold mine on either side. I've tried a few strategies like trying endlessly to get my opposition towers destroyed so my spawns can get thru but I just keep getting killed and having to respawn, my games take at least 30 mins with no ground being taken for either side.  Any tips on this map would be much appreciated.

I would never suggest to spam towers. Rank one Power of the Tower is all you need in most situations unless you are seriously going to build your entire game around the skill.

They are way helpful on this particular map, though.

If I remember when I get home, I'll try to snag some screen shots for you for possible ideas.

Rook is not the be-all end-all on crucible. The key is to take flags, grow your war strength and purchase cit upgrades. Destroy buildings when you can. Get whatever gold you can by killing heroes and avoid getting killed. It is practically the same strategy you would use on any map. (On crucible try to use the area off to the side with the artifact flag to flank your enemies and get kills.)

1. Get an item that teleports your character for a short distance.

2. Use it

3. When you save up enough money and warrank to get all the creeps buy a flag caplock.

4. teleport to the opposing team's portal while they are fighting at the front.

5. Capture then lock their portal

6. ?????

7. Victory.

 

Crucible is a shit map.

I love crucible, not a lot of farming mobs for xp, alot of flag bouncing, demigod slaughtering.

It's my second least favorite next to Prison.

Mostly for the exact same reasons you supplied.
