I'd absolutely love to be able to use my scroll wheel (ie. middle click) as the camera move key (default spacebar), but the camera controls are the only key options that can't be changed..

 

Is there a specific reason for this? Is there an intent to change this in a later patch?

It is quite bizarre that the camera keys can't be changed.  I don't get it.

Indeed, and the same can be said about the WSAD keys. It'd be really nice to be able to customize those as well.

+++ Please lets keep bringing this up as well until it gets implemented.

It appears no mouse buttons are assignable to most everything in the keyboard configuration, let alone the fact that the camera controls are locked to their defaults!
