Simspeed improvement

I'm looking for ways to improve my simspeed... I tried turning the game specs down to low, but it's still pretty miserable.... here are my system specs... I figured my PC would be well equipped to handle the game, but with a consistant -1 to 0 simspeed, I dunno what else I can do.

Things do seem to be getting a bit sluggish on my PC though, so if updating drivers and all that hoopla doesn't help, it might be time for a reformat... :|

Your GFX card is fine and your processor seems decent, try reinstalling windows or turning off un-necessary background programs man.

How many people are in the games you get low sim speed in?

Your specks seem like they should run it...

Im only running an AMD Phemon X3 2.2ghz, 4 gig ram, and a Radion X1950.  I get sim speeds of 5-6 in a 3-3 or 4-4, and thats at endgame.

I'm there with you.  My cpu is not as good but my Vid card is a lot better

AMD 4800 X2

Geforce 9800 GX2 ie SLI on one card

Same ammount of Ram and about 2TB of Harddrive space not that that matters.

This game is just WAY too processor intensive and appears to have not been optimized for cpu at all hardly.

It just seems wrong when I can play Crysis, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Company of Heroes or anything else all with fantastic Frame rates but yet Demigod runs like dog crap with all settings turned down low.

Running it fine in 1680x1050 on medium to high settings.

Amd 4600+ X2

9800GT

2GB Ram.

150Gb Velociraptor

Try this. Go into Nvidia Control panel. Go to "Manage 3D Settings". Find "Multi-display/Mixed-GPU acceleration" under the Global settings tab. Change it to "Single GPU multiple display performance mode"

you could do try overclocking your cpu your type of cpu should be easily overclocked to 3+, dont know anyting about your cpu but id be very surprised if you could not overclock it with a few tweaks to the bios. dont get to greedy i would not try go over 3,4 without getting a new cooler. its not someting you need to be good at computer to be able to do its just test and try test and try until you find what works.

http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=151373 seemd good OC info when i fast read it

i got the same graphic card as you have and a Q6600 2,4 cpu but i got this overclocked to 3,2 it runs on 1280x1024 on high settings just fine at sim 10-7 for me but this is one of few games that uses quad cores i think.

the classic reinstall your windows or use your backup, ghost if you got one. usually speeds up the comp but oh boy is it time consuming. if your reinstall xp i would advice getting tinyxp (rev9) it reduced my backround programs running when starting up windows and bigger options at installation. (i think its perfectly legal if you got a valid xp key)

Try starting the game with the "/nosound" command and/or updating your sound driver.

There's a known issue of certain sound cards/drivers causing low simspeed on otherwise high end systems. I had that problem myself. Updating to the latest Realtek driver of my onboard sound card fixed it.
