Another reason of lag - your simspeed

If your PC is incapable of running 3v3 AIs at at least one simspeed consistently (See your score panel to check your simspeed), please do us a favor, no matter what gigabit Internet connection you have, 50 ping or less, it will lag the hell of out of others.

 

I have joint 3 3v3 custom games when hosts specified 150< ping. Everyone did have 150 or less ping, but games all lagged. There was always 1 or 2 people runnign at 0 or -1 Simspeed, dragging everyone to a snails game pace.

 

Please, if your PC is incapable, do not join large games. Tune down your game quality settings, turn off FSAA, AF in your graphics card driver. Then go single player to test which maps, number of AIs your system can handle without slowdown before joining game online and ruins the fun for everyone.

Actually if you have a single core cpu or a real slow Dualcore (think lowend mobile) no ammount of tonning down graphics will help ... sim speed means game siimulation speed (and is handled on a seperate thread) and if your cpu cant calculate a game second per realtime second or less then - You're screwed and whats worse - you screw eveyone as well...

Very good point, when some people are blaming lag on (NAT) and (proxy) it is normally with a sim speed that goes below 2 that causes lag.

You seem to overestimate other's ability to read minimum requirement and recommended requirement on the game and distinguish between the two.

They have a shit pc doesn't mean they dont' want to play. Anyway, The game simply needs and ingame message like Warhammer has that tells you WHO IS LAGGIN THE GAME and the option to kick them. THEN you should be able to invite someone to take that spot /remake. AI Demigod is so bad the game is sometimes over once 1 person drops. Maybe and INGAME benchmark program. Bad simspeed is a problem I run into that much. If you have the problem within the first 3 mins just quit. It will get way worse once Cats/Giants/Priest/Angels start rolling out

true but if i get into a game thats laggy and it  does not settle after 5 minutes i leave.

if someone at end game gets to 0 or below sim speed i leave.<--- write down the persons name and will not join a game with that person agian.
