How to fix the invalid username/password bug

does not work all the time nor 50% of the time. if that dont work try this though this has worked for me. try the link they sent me. i posted the reply so no one would think it was a hack or anythen.

Try closing Impulse and running the following file:

http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/fix_registrations.reg

Make sure to follow the link in Internet Explorer, as other web browsers will not handle the file type correctly.  Once you follow the link, save the file and double click it to apply it.  Then relaunch Impulse.  You will need to re-login with your username/e-mail (either will work) and password.

If that doesn't work, then try deleting the file 'Games.prefs' which is located here:

YOUR USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod

Then launch Demigod and try to log into multiplayer.

But all options will be reset and singleplayer achievements are gone.

okay i made a backup of the old file, launched demigod logged in multiplayer and logged out again. Deleted the new game.prefs file and put the old backup of the file back in it's place, it works and all options and achievements are still there.

Just deleting game.prefs in the above mentioned directory worked for me...

Still pissed, I went and got Total War Empire from Steam last night and it is pretty awesome, should of just got that in the first place...

guys... I was unable to login for about 13 hours.  Deleting 'Games.prefs' had zero impact.  I could have done a fresh install and I'd still be screwed.  It appears as if the issue may have been fixed between 11:30pm and 1pm ET today.  The solution needs to come from stardock in the form of some auto-logout...

edit - so I just saw that the fix you suggested was from stardock... hmm...

It still seems like something must have been done on stardock's side to resolve this.  I'm thinking that perhaps whatever happened last night around midnight ET is different from the previous login issues.  I'm hoping someone from SD posts on what the hell happened and how it was fixed around 11:30pm ET today.

Deleting the game.prefs about an hour ago let me get back in. It wasn't working last night, though.

You don't need to delete game.prefs

The problem was server side. Not your end.

I usually try logging onto a different computer or internet connection and that seems to fix it.

In most cases, sudden inability to log in is simply caused by having experienced a crash while online. The server won't let you in simply because it thinks you're already logged in. The session will time out after a few minutes and you should be back in business.

I was locked out for 2 hours last night.  I deleted the .prefs file several times and it still did not work.  I am able to log back in this afternoon though.

Apparently the datacenter ISP decided to do an unscheduled maintenance in the early hours today.

Game crashed 2 days ago while lauching a 5v5. I seemed to be stuck at the Demigod screen that flashes on the screen real quick just after launch from lobby. Buddies on vent were all on the "waiting for other players" screen. We waited a few minutes & I ctrl+alt+del & ended the demigod.exe process. m8's all loaded & played out the game. Since then I get user/pass incorrect. Have a support ticket w/ stardock, try all the above w/ not luck.

Any ideas?
