Simspeed, why everyone gets punished

Ok i know what simspeed is for and thats all well and good but i would like to see something of an indication of someones simspeed before the game starts.  There is nothing worse then waiting 10-20 min in custom games to get a full room.  Then you get ingame and wow its lagging like shit.  Hmm i wonder why is it my quadcore?  or maybe my 4 gigs of ram or my 2 512mb video cards.  But oh NO its some fag thats using a comp from 5 years ago ruining it for everone.  Is there anyways to put in a meter or a boot command?  Because playing demigod at neg 2 sim speed because of some other guy is insane

They get autobooted if their latency gets too high sometimes.

So because someone can't afford a quadcore or many gigs of ram or multiple videocards, they are homosexual... makes sense to me...

BTW I have a quadcore, 4 gigs of ram, and 2 768MB video cards =D

Way to secure your sexuality there at the end with that last comment.

Lol, I am just saying I am not defending the low simspeed guys because I am one of em. I have just accended beyond hatred of the poor and homosexual.

Low simspeed players aren't fags because they have weaker computers. I think he called them fags because these people can run demigod on low detail, but they just don't like that...

The problem with this is that there really isn't a good way to detect how low someone's simspeed will get to prior to starting a match. As the game furthers along and sides unlock troops and cap portals, the simspeed'll lower by a LOT. My own simspeed'll start off at 6 or 7 on big maps but as more troops are unlocked (priests, angels, catapults, giants) and portals are capped to spawn in even more troops, my sim speed can lower to 3 or even all the way to 1 depending on how many other players there are in the game, if they have minions, etc.

Simspeed isn't a stable thing at the moment and can fluctuate wildly inside a game. So even someone with a good initial simspeed at the beginning can end up with a low one near the end of a game.

I have 10 on my PC, 8 on my laptop at the start of the game. The 10 doesn't drop, no matter how many stuff is on the map, but laptop goes as low as 5 in late stages of Cataract.

Cool that 10 doesnt help you when that guy with the -2 wont leave the game.

Yep, there's a lot of those ******** around.

So, let me get this right. You would rather play an Ai, then play a player that is lagging badly for some reason? I do understand your frustration, becasue one of my firends has a shaky internet connection. We  try to have someone else host, and itworks out.

Someone else... host? Erm... it's not how it works in this game.

Sadly it's the people who have negative simspeed who have no clue on what kind of computer they have.  They just expect to be able play.

Then there's people who get negative simspeed on Brother's map and say I had simspeed of 5 last game.

Finally the ones that say I have a QuadCore, no way I'm getting negative simspeed.  Oh yes you are, look at the scoreboard!  Their simspeed jumps from 3 to -1 every few seconds.

But i has a quad core and 4GB (with 4 more coming :D) and 2 x 1BG cards...

Lowest i've seen my sim go while watching has been to 5 but in most games it idels at 7; my prb is when my wife decides to randomly upload which kills the lantecy (fixed now; QoS is nice).

The people with neg speedsim; jsut keep asking them to leave until they do; or keep killing them over and over and ty to make them rage quit...

Ya, i pulled the specs off xfire, forgot to manually update my HDD.  159 GB Windows drive, 159 GB Games drive, 300 GB Storage drive.

Whats wrong with the G9? You ever used it?  Love that mouse.

And the mouse pad came with my Alienware laptop I bought in '03 when I was in the military.  If it ain't broke, dont fix it.  I'm not insane enough to spend 100 bucks on a mouse pad I dont really need.  I'm playing games, not working for Pixar.

I wish I could overclock my processor.  For some reason the Q6600 is unstable on some P5N-E SLi boards.  I just happened to get one of those boards.  Some people overclock just fine.  I've even followed other people's successful overclocking processes.  No luck.  One time I did manage to get it to start up at 2.8 GHz, windows was very unstable.  They did release a new bios that fixes stability on some processors, but I haven't tried OCing since I installed it.  I couldn't even find out if that meant I could OC now or not, or if it meant it fixed CPUs in normal running mode only.  When I get it back from RMA later this week I'll do it.

DUDE I had the same issue. I my computer started with a P5N-E SLI, but now I use that board in another machine where I have a 2.4 E1800, 2GB ram, and a radeon 4830, runs decently. Since I switched to the EVGA 780i FTW Edition, it has been smooth sailing.

Nothing's wrong with it, it's a decent gaming mouse, it's just that the Razer Deathadder is better, especially with a proper pad like the Razer Mantis/Goliathus Control.
