Demigod causes Local Area Network to go into Local Only

Whilst playing a custom game demigod has a tendancy to disconnect from all the other players. And when quitting the game my internet has gone aswell. To resolve this I need to restart the computer. This normally happens once a night, but on two occasions this has happened twice in a row. This wastes up to 30-40 minutes of my time a go.

Things to note;

My computer is on the DMZ list

Ports 6073 and 6100 to 6200 are open

Other program's open at the time include ventrillo, steam, msn, chrome etc.

This is without a doubt localised only with demigod as I have this problem with no other games.

Sounds like something in your setup is running a SPI-type firewall on your connection (router/modem/ISP) and is detecting all of the UDP traffic required by Demigod as a potential DoS attack.  This could be causing your router/modem to seemingly "kick" you from the internet.

This happens to me too occasionally. I have only windows firewall and windows defender running, on a belkin vision n1 router.

I HAD precisely this issue in the past... right down to a reboot of the OS will resolve the problem... until it happens again.  I've posted this fix in the past and then there are typically no replies afterwards.  Please, try it out and post your results.  I can only speak for my router's setup for part of this...

taken from another post i made

I believe I was able to resolve it by re-configuring my router (WRT54Gv8) and reconfiguring impulse reactor.  Then, the issue stopped completely.  A few weeks after I upgraded to Win7 and still do not have the issue.  I'm not 100% I have the best settings possible, but I am certain that the issue stopped after I made the changes.

Impulse reactor settings - start port 6100.  end port 6200.

Router -

Block Anonymous Internet Requests
Filter Multicast
Filter Internet NAT Redirection
Filter IDENT(Port 113)

router is setup to forward UDP on 6073-6200 to my internal ip. router is setup to forward UDP on 6073-6200 to my internal ip.

Give it a shot!

Also - I think my previous issue was caused by not configuring impulse reactor.  It can be found at C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin (or someplace similar based on your install).  So, if you haven't touched that yet, start there.

Hey... I spent about 30 minutes looking around... I can't find anything that matches the settings I posted to your router.  If you have not already, send an email to stardock tech support.  Have you already done the impulse reactor settings prior to my advising to do so?  If so, I am at a loss.

There is an approved router thread going around that does list which routers are working for people...

Best of luck!
