Atleast Metroid stands a chance against Star Trek (I can't say the same for Halo).

Metroid for sure

again metroid surpasses startrek in timeline

just comparing the GFS Olympus as A flagship (means theres more of them) and it's bigger then anything the federation owns (just using my bigger = better theory here)

Samus Aran's Power Suit vs (unarmored soldiers??)

Metroid Fightercraft VS Shuttle pod's... (lol?)

metroid badguys vs startrek badguys (the borg r nothing compared 2 space pirates... , and species 8472 in turn = nothing compared 2 phazon...

Metroid = a more dangerous universe, compared 2 StarTrek

so my choice definatly falls on Metroid

I would have to say Metroid as well. Thanks for the free pub, by the way.... I AM, after all, making a VERY high-quality Metroid mod for GC2, Twilight.....

idk, Species 8472 destroyed like 500 Borg cubes with just a single one-man fighter.

Actually, I think that if you want to linearly compare the two, the Borg are actually more on par with the Ing, as opposed to the Pirates. But I would sure like to see the Klingons go up against the GFMC:

"WROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!" *CLANG* (sound of Bat'leth shattering into a million pieces against Jovian steel.) "Hey, knock it off!" *pop* *splat*

As you can probably guess, I don't really like Klingons......

Admiral DANE could pwn Worf!!!

yeah... they really can't be compared.    1st off, metroid games have yet to be divided into 'eras' the way star trek has.  There isn't enough lore behind it to do so (we don't have time frames between games the way we do between star trek episodes)   And 2ndly, why the heck would you choose metroid prime 2 echoes.    That is probebly the least like other metroid games.

I have to go with landisaurus on this one. Why Metroid Prime 2? I would have prefered to go with Metroid Fusion (for the GPA). That was a well made game. If I recall correctly, the X parasites could infect any organic creature (or device), duplicate its nature (effectively making a clone), gain knowledge and skills from previous victims, process data organically, and clone themselves.

Given that they managed to partially infect Samus before she was cured, and that they were left alone with her suit for a while after it was surgically removed, the X parasites could clone an army of Samus. They had other creatures, but that alone would be a far greater threat (in the long run) than the borg or species 8472. They could probally infect them too (or figure out how), adding their strengths to themselves in the process.

Yeah. The X are arguably the series's most dangerous creatures.... and I higlhy doubt that destroying SR388 wiped them out for good...... if they came back, it would be....... bad...... for everyone..... hint, hint, hint.

METROID FTW!

I actually created a lot of Metroid canon a while back: nothing verified by Nintendo, of course, but it fits within the game story. I actually saw the X as Chozo nanotechnology that could "pose" as organic. It was developed for the Alimbic to defeat Gorea, but it turned on the Chozo and had to be destroyed. In order to make it small enough and powerful enough to do the job, they had used a bioenegy-powered system. Hence, the Metroids' ability to drain bioenergy.

Star Trek created by Gene Roddenberry in the mid 60's; spawned numerous TeeVee series, 11 Feature films, countless video games, novels, products, etc.

Metroid created by Nintendo in the late 80's; ?, ?, a few game titles.

You do the math.

Swamp Thing beats them all.

If that's the case, i'll submit Micronoid from Apocalypse... Hallucinoid from TFTD... Chryssalid from X-Com would de-consolize (sp?) your genetic tricks right back into rational PC gaming of the 90's rather than SciFi's best be it Borg or Wraith or Cylons or Babylonialy Fived.

You asked for imaginative compares, you got some numbered by Blizzard's Starcraft figures or less.

Wonder what would samus look like as a  BORG...  I think it would be a bad ass Borg with Metroid suit...

She could fire nano probes from her gun upgrade...  Borg gun!  Boom automatic new drones....

That's IF they could assimilate her....... I have NO idea what a Chozo immune system would do to nanoprobes....

Definately your ignorance, there are about 20 Metroid games, a movie, and several novels.

There is a movie?

What is it called? Is it on dvd? I would love to see that.

As for the games sure there is some lore but nothing compared to trek.
