I BEG FOR HELP - CONNECTIVITY ISSUES

hi there!

i've been having a constantly high ping ever since i started playing. it causes me to get kicked out of lobbies all the time and the game to lag when i dont get kicked...

im a new player, and i have been able to play about 10 games (custom games), about 6 of which were abandoned due to lagging. i read a lot of posts and followed all of them ,including the guide that you guys put for connectivity issues ( opening up ports, proxy stuf, firewall settings, etc...)

bottom line - i think this game is a lot of fun , but i cant play it, because my ping is usually around 350-400!!!

please help me!!

We really need to know you connection speed, as the above points out.

Here is a thread where I talk about the nessisary speeds. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/353556

Here are the basics: (k=kilobyte, kb=kilobit, Mb=megabit, speedtest.com uses Mb.)

So for 2v2 you need 3x4 k/s = 12 k/s  = 96kb/s = .094 Mb/s

3v3 needs               5x4 k/s = 20 k/s = 160kb/s = .16Mb/s

4v4 needs               7x4 k/s = 28 k/s = 224kb/s = .22Mb/s

5v5 needs               9x4 k/s = 36 k/s = 288kb/s = .28Mb

Also make sure your connection is not being used up by anyhting else, such as torrents, or another user on your network.

im assuming being in hungary means you'll have high ping with anyone but europeans and your upload speed is a bit low, especially if you are doing any background tasks which require to upload stuff.

so my advice - stick to 3v3's and lower, and stick to custom games and look for people who live near you, whether by joining games and looking at ping, or by looking at game titles to see if they tell where the host's from. also, if you have a torrent downloader up or something that could be uploading also, exit it

if that is not working you can try using server proxy's - these should help you connect to others

directions here to get that up - http://forums.demigodthegame.com/354509/page/1/#2238193

Hello.  God forbid you still have problems even with local games and after trying the good advice from tperge and woca, theres some of us who are having lag ingame that we just can't seem to fix - even with good speeds like my 10Mb/s down and 2Mb/s up.  Hopefully your not in my same boat but our post about it is here:  http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593.  Good luck!:star:
