Improving "Citadel Upgrades" mechanic

An idea for consideration

I've seen a lot of people complaining about "noobs" buying priests too early in the game which guarantees a "GG" and win for the other team. People complain about teammates buying upgrades they shouldn't. I just thought of a solution that I think would help this. And I don't think it hurts anything.

What if you have a little window/notification that pops up on the side of the screen for all teammates when a player clicks to buy a citadel upgrade? It would say what player was trying to buy which upgrade and would have a "Yea" and "Nay" button to agree or disagree with the purchase of the upgrade. The upgrade can't be bought unless all teammates select "Agree" (or whatever the option should be called). That way you won't have the above-mentioned problem. If people disagree, they'll start typing out why it shouldn't be bought or whatever and it'd encourage some communication. And the notification wouldn't just pop up in your face and get you killed in a battle. It'd appear on the side of the screen and would be compact and minimalistic.

What do you guys think? Would this ruin the buying system?

And what if someone decides he wants his team to lose and refuses to accept any?

I think what you decide to buy with your money should always be your choice. Communicating with your team is the best idea, so instead of introducing an unrequired dialogue box that interupts the game for all players on that team, talk with your team and develop your strategy so that you don't need a method to control your team mates and force them into doing what you think is the best way to win.

I dont think I should be able to deny you a purchase.  If this is to fix priests, why not just fix priests so they arent useless.

Now, I would love an option to split the cost of a purchase like this.  I dont want to give team mates money, but if I could buy 1/2 of a purchase, and my mate payed the other, we could get a useful upgrade, and both get cheaper items, without someone sacraficing items for the good of the team.

End of regabond's quote

that was my first thought too. if any, it should be a majority vote of some kind.

You have a good idea but then you have to think about 2v2 and 3v3, there is much majority if it's you and him or him and one more player.
