Game released 2 months ago. When will it all work out? :) Is it like Valve time?

Please remember that pretty much every game sucks in it's first year of release it's those few or many players that stay loyal to the game throughout that get to reap the benefits after.

hey maxxy... I've seen you on the forums before and you've seen me... take it easy.  This patch fixed alot and surely broke a little.  Somethings weren't touched, but you've posted enough to see the progression.  Lighten up and enjoy the improvements.

@pacov: Hiya, Im just waiting for the game to stop crashing/disconnecting in mid game. I am not upset but I think that instead of dealing with HoL nerfs, etc - maybe they should start with crashes to desktop? I send in ALOT of bug reports to help the devs and I have yet to see solutions. No patches/fixes or FAQs.

Looking at other companies, they know the priority of fixing exploits/crashes/lack of functionality. If something is supposed to work (like, random demigods for example) and it just plain doesn't on the first day of patch, then where the hell are the Devs? Group Leaders (for code review) and QA? Does anyone even bother checking? I don't want content until this game is fixed and I can play it without me or one of the people I play with crashing. Coz at the moment 1 out of 4 games someone will crash (that I know of!).

I believe that the developers agree with you on this. I am quite sure that the reason for the delay is something entierly different. For example different people in the game studio works in different areas. Perhaps the programmers looking for bugs are not finnished yet but the "content makers" have nothing to do.

This was an extremly simplified example but my point is. I believe they also would want the bugs gone before they fix minor issues.

thats unfortunate for you,

as in my games nobody ever crashes in 30 games :P

but i can't see how they could not notice the broken random function... when i couldn't launch i was so mad (but only for a short time, still happy with 1.1)

-edit- and don't ever say screw content again, i'm waiting so eagerly for the new DGs, and maps are also high priority for me

Hi. In the software industry, on the developing side, content makers and bug fixers are the same people. Developers do both (I know, because I do as well where I work).

I agree that content is important but if I can't use the content at all (crashes) or use it properly (like, graphics glitches or disfunctional UI - ever tried to aim heal on a teammate demigod when he is very close to you?) then there is no point to content. It's like a bottleneck. When the game couldn't connect properly to other players, you couldn't really play, right? What was the point of content then? I see it as the same. That is all :)

Maxxy I didn't know this. It is just an argument I have heard myself many times when I suggest a different prioritation.

I really hope that the developers already understand that bugfixes are more important.

Fixing content could help selling the game however, because there are many stupid people in the world who only care about how cool the demigods look and have like zero intrest in gameplay.

I would argue that this is not the case with demigod because this is a strategy game and strategy game players are often not impressed by cool and awesome effects. What they want is a good game with good and deep strategy that acually works.

It's funny that i already have all those things that you put in CAPITAL LETTERS in your OP maxxy

while i'm longing for the first three things (content, balance and new features)

Wow, can I live in the fantasy world where you live? I am sure that when the main servers are down and no one can connect then you can connect... to single player skirmish? Get real. There are obvious issues.

Regardless, I am guessing from your post that as long as YOU can connect that means the game is ok, right? right?!

YOU > *

Edit: And if it wasn't understood, I was talking for all the people who do have issues. I don't have all the issues stated but people who I do play with do.

Maxxy... fair enough... if 1 in 4 games crashed for me I probably wouldn't still be playing this.  That really sucks!  I assume you have been, but are you sending in the relevant information to tech support?
