Nobody likes generals because minions don't attack what you tell them to. They mill about and attack whatever crap is around what you clicked.
I just beat 2 sednas as a general QoT. You just have know how to command your troops.
Nobody likes generals. Minions do brainless crap even when you select them and tell them to attack something.
People don't dislike generals, but you are right about the minions.
Look here - http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/demigods/ for some info demigod usage. Apparently some people like generals. It takes a bit of work to get a solid minion build together. Quick tip in case you didn't know - press M in game to select only minions and then issue an attack command.
It doesn't always work though. Lost count of how many times pressing M results in minions not moving or the DG also moving but being deselected thus preventing you from canceling his move unless you retarget him. If you are being chased by another DG this can often be fatal.
Press "N" when you attack someone if you want your minions to attack as well. "N" selects both you and your minions.
It's only really an issue with QoT anyway.
This is unnaceptable. The game penalizes you for using the hotkeys.
Personally i love generals, I didnt at first, i thought they were weak compared to the assassins but once you sit down and learn how to use them and how to build a viable general they are great.

No one likes assassins because generals are just as strong as assassins and they have minions. See how I did that.
Okay, here's what I really meant:
Nobody likes minions because they do brainless crap so they just play generals as assassins.
No they play generals as assassins because they don't know how to use a general as a general.

I have grown significantly more fond of minions of late, just needed to learn how to use them better.
I actually got asked if I was using some sort of Erebus exploit due to my heavy minion build from a fairly seasoned player (and the hero kills I was getting w/ minions alone)... if you don't know how to combat minion builds, at least at the early/mid levels, you'll probably be feeling some pain. I personally thinks its very smart balancing. A general shouldn't be the worlds greatest tank as they get minions... I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to be a medium strength DG and have very strong minions. Oh well... someone will call for a nerf at some point.
Nothing quite like that first moment when you get killed by minions alone and you are like WTF, though
i dont have the patience to play as a minion general with all the glitches.
f### its annoying enough just turning ooze on and off as UB.
For those of us following this, anyone have a post to a killer minion build? I have a very solid Erebus build, but haven't taken the time to write it up yet.
