a idea to improve the game

this is just a idea i have absolutely no idea if it could be implemented

well i was thinking of a way to make the game better for people who keep coming back to play it so i cam up with upgrades  as in after every 25 times you play as a demigod you will get  to upgrade some of his stats  like get to increase hp on regulus or increase mana on erebus or movement speed on rook

but there would be things each demi couldn't upgrade like ub couldn't upgrade his speed or attack speed   ere couldn't up grade his hp regen same with sedna

so each demis best thing  can't be upgraded  this would also make it more challengeing and more fun for the players who play regulary would also make itless boring and repeatertive

Giving rewards for grinding? Are you serious?

Seriously, just GTFO. You would only make the game worse. You also posted in the wrong forum, and you have a barely functional grasp of the English language.

If you really need somebody to explain why a game based around balanced multiplayer would be worse by forcing people to grind for upgrades, then you need to stop playing multiplayer games and think for a few minutes.

mil  your a iddiot  litrally  play the game for over 2 months then speak

Reply #3 Top

si1foo, what you suggest would result in people having an advantage at the start of the game over people who had played the game less. It's a bad idea let it drop.

Reply #4 Top

yeah, casual players are already complaining about favor items, so this would make it only worse(and it would destroy balancing btw)

Reply #5 Top

but the gamers could be split in to different areas  casual gamers noobs and people who play alot  this would solve all the problems

and what balance ub  with extra hp items can kill anyone i soloed a 2v1 with him for christ sake

Reply #6 Top

Favor items already give people a whisker of advantage over new players, adding more stuff such as long-term stat enhancements would be quite silly.

Reply #7 Top

Yeah I think it would be hard to give them stat increases as it would discourage new players, but aestetic (?) things would be kind of cool. Also, the regulars will get extra coupons from Stardock in the future.

Also, Milski you are an asshole. If I could give negative karma you would get a -6 right now.

This is a bad idea, and wouldnt work with multiplayer, sorry to say. Knowledge is already a large enough advantage why should anyone get a bonus for already being better than the average casual player. And seperating casual and expert sounds good, but you need a very large player pool for that to be effective.

Actually, I'd say give new players +500 HP in the first 5 games, then reduce it by 100 each game until the 500 HP bonus is gone. Online multiplayer is extremely unforgiving and new player could use a little help to get started.

Reply #10 Top

Actually, that's a pretty good idea. Except that every experienced teenager will start to cry. But it would give the new players a small boost and they won't die so many times in the beginning, which will make the games more fun. After all, a game in which a new player dies 4 times before level 5 is pretty much decided anyway.

i agree with conel  that there should be something for newbs  but  that would proberly cause people making multiple accounts so they can keep the 500+ hp

but also have variations  so that  if you say your a regular player then it would take  you 30 games to get some statsand if your a casual player it would take you 20 games

sort of thing  arranging it so people  who are noobs dont bitch and people who are great dont get too cocky to the noobs

the key would be finding the balance and what i was entialy thinking when i said stats was like you get like 1 point

1 point

hp = 100

mana = 125

hp regen = 5

mana regen = 10

attack speed = 5%

speed = 5%

range = 5%

skill recharge = 5%

skill dmg = 5%

and so on

I don't support that idea. I like this game because it doesn't require grinding (which i'm tired of).

But I have an idea to let players gain some items for their achievements in game. This items should be used to customize the visual outlook of a demigod (some stylish armour, helms, weapons), but should not affect stats.

I think, a visual customization should bring a "fresh wind" into game, give pepole some award for their achivements, while not affecting the game balance.

Quit trying to turn this into an MMO.

ok charvel i would like to hear u come up with a way to improve the game  come on speak up

The game is pretty good as it is. Certainly what you're suggesting would only increase the distance between hardcore/casual/new players. Your suggestion of increasing stats and such is basically just like leveling a character in an MMO where your demigod retains its experience outside of a single game.

The game is meant to be played like an RTS where each team starts out even steven (with the exception of Favor Items; but over a short amount of time that can even out as well; or you could even just play games without them). If you and I were to sit down to a game of Sins of a Solar Empire or Civilization IV there would be absolutely NO advantage for one player over the other except for skill and knowledge. Wouldn't matter how many times you've played a certain faction.

Some ways to improve the game in my opinion are as follows:

Get modability in place so people can go crazy with the UI and other stuff
Modify the Custom Games selection area so that games can be grouped by country/continent/region, whatever
On that note, allow for some kind of selection in the Custom Games selection screen where teams could join as a team

I should point out all 3 of those suggestions are already getting attention by Stardock/GPG so my mentioning them is nothing new. I'm looking forward to them is all.

I say nay.

They say they're going to be releasing more favor items. That's PLENTY to reward people playing much.

I like this idea actually, it would be nice to get my UB a nice new shiny pair of claws:D .

to the OP: I don't really think this is a good idea. As everyone else has said it would just seperate noobs and experienced players even more, and the ways that you suggested to even it out wouldn't really do enough. It would also just make things more complicated for new players.

personaly i think that this game isn't going to become the next best thing  it is a good game but it is basically a simulator as in   u pic some criteria then fight  and once u remeber all the demis abilitys and the builds  it gets boring

then this game is pretty much a rpg isn't it  and actually the best part of mmorpgs is that it takes a while and  no 2 characters are the same can't say this about demigod

everyone sticks to there build  buys the same items  and plays the same ways

Except good people, who buy citadel upgrades and eq and use different builds depending on the situation at hand.

I know one problem I have is taking my erebus minion build into battle against AoE torches.

Actually MMOs like WOW have pretty much all the same characters. Everyone wants the same epic armor and weapons, because they are the best, and pretty much even skill choice is fixed because they need the best build to come along. In the earlier days some guilds actually enforced builds on you and you had to switch when they wanted or you'd get kicked.

It's one of the reasons I quit WOW when I had some maxed level toons, in the end everyone is one and the same, and there's no 'room' for alternate builds.
