Man the community is getting worse by the day

Hate to say it i love the game but this has to be some of the worst people i've ever seen in a game.  I've never seen a game where people either quit 3 mins in to it cause OMG they died and there a little behind or it turns into a 20 min long arguement with there team over how bad someone thinks someone else is.   And it seems to be about 80% of the games are like this.  The games great when people stay and fight, i've had some great games, some i won and some i lost but for that 1 good game the 4 other are frusterating(sorry i cant spell).  Seems like the last week or 2 its just getting impossible to find a game thats enjoyable anymore.   Hopefully clan support and a rating system for them will help but who knows how long for that(not saying they're not working there asses off on this game).  Hopeing its just me but starting to think this game is doomed already because of the people playing it.

This is classic Dota.  I've long lost my faith in humanity so it doesn't really faze me anymore.

Werd, i've noticed an increase in ingame shittalking too. It's becoming more like DOTA by the day.

strange, i'm not noticing such things at all...

people that i play with are mostly polite, and if they concede early... so what just host another game, there are enough players out there to get my games full in max 5 minutes

Agreed 100%, im all for shit talking but there are farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 2 many 'serious' ppl, and the RQ, omg the RQ'ers, so so so so so many..... PLUS i hate ppl who complain because a 'massive noob' is on there team, do ppl forget its a TEAM BASED game, if ur TEAM MEMBER isnt doin so well, try and help him out so he knows what he can do, rather then insult him the whole friken game.

I haven't had the problem, I'm in the "EU" region by the way, could have something to do with that, really nice people in my games mostly.

Shit talk only adds to the likelihood of a rage quit.  It might help if you just avoid being a dick altogether and play the game with some humility.  After all, this is a game for fun and not everyone enjoys being berated by faceless online pricks.

Although I do grin a little when the shit talking flies our way until those massive death deficits start rolling their way.  Typically though, it's always the shit talkers that rage themselves when that happens.  I don't get it.

*i completely edited this, thought the old post was too lengthy and abstract*

I think it has something to do with the way this game works...Dying absolutely SUCKS in this game. The fights in this game are very 'personal' I guess. Winning is awesome, but dieing is soooo embarassing.

We need a correct working Rankingsystem and a Bannlist!!! This could help

But Demigod sucks!

I havent had any major incidents with bad sportsmanship... in fact the only low point on the day for me was losing to frogboy

But for the most part the concede option solves the issue with rage quitters. Now when someone quits you arent left to sit it out 1 vs 2 with an ai and can just say i am not playing with ai sorry. Happened a few times today. No big deal just played a new game.

QFT.

people in this game are piss weak compared to the @#$% that goes on in dota.

its embarrasing because... you cant find out why u died. its a shame you cant really learn from your mistakes as easily as other games.

I love the game, but I do think the 30 second blackout after dying has something to do with the rage quitting.

Just basic psychology: being killed or worse, being pwned, is bad enough, and will cause a short surge of despair or rage in all but the best of folks.  It's tempting to immediately curse your opponent, your teammates, etc.  If you can keep still for 15 seconds, all is probably ok and you will cool off.  The more rational parts of your brain will kick in ("Well, it was a tough kill but it happens...", "We're still winning in war score", etc.)

But since there's nothing to do after dying, and you feel like doing *something*, I can see how people quit.  I can only imagine if your opponents or your allies start talking crap while you're fuming in the penalty boxed.

Just giving the deceased something to do, even if meaningless, probably would make a difference.

If u play wc3 online (costum games) then you'll see the most immature and highly retarded people, most people who play it are kids (except dota and normal games there are still pro players in wc3)

I feel angry sometimes (well, all the time, but thats another story), about people who rage quit and those that refuse to listen then rage quit.

e.g. A Regulus stands toe to toe with an UB and EB, they die. Fair enough. I say, dont go two against one, wait for help, or come help us, or stack health if they are a rook with less health than my fairy build Reg. Do they listen? Nooooo. Fair enough, they have no obligation to listen to me - however, when they then QUIT after feeding the opposition several easy kills, I do get a bit miffed.

My experience is about 1 in 3 games are awsome, the other 2 in 3 games are messed up by quiters, rude players or people that dont want to play as part of a team. Not a great ratio, but it could be a lot worse. Add to that there are lots and lots of really great, friendly, polite players out there that continue to play.

I do however say, "omg, rage quit" when someone does it. Makes me feel better, a little.

This comment made me smile. :)

I guess it really is important to have friends and stack up a team. Maybe it is sad because those people will indeed be playing very well but then again, it might help to not get screwed over time after time.

You can always arrange a team with ppl you met in past game.. or friend you know in real life.. organize a 3, 4 or 5 v x man

get on vent.. and make awsome teamplay.. there you gonna enjoy the game better. The only thing associate to this is that other team youll play against will not be as good as your.. so we used to call it pub smash.. me and my bro and real life friend from dota.. we were doing pub smash.. lolol but after a while.. ppl get better and better and you get good games :D

that way you probably never gonna get piss at other partners..

I think a lot of the rage quitting will fade once clan support comes in.  When the norm is to play with a clan of friends, you won't see very many people rage quitting on their friends.  As it stands, games typically involve a PuG where the teammates don't know each other, so they could care less about abandoning their teammates.  Sadly, given the horrible friend system currently in place, and relatively small player base, it can be hard to really create any decent network of friends.

Once the game has better support for clans and friends, it will get a lot better.

This is not a problem for me, because I only play with my friends.  I always have at least one friend on with me.  I think the solution to your problem is to make a friend, just make sure they are good at games.

Nothing specilal for Demigod. Idiots happen in every game (as a former WoW player I can say it's totaly infested with idiots and non-adequate players, nevertheless nobody is talking "WoW community is dead"). Just don't pay attention on  them and you are fine.

Yep, it is. Only play with friends, and if you have no friends don't play Demigod.

Depends on your definition of "better"

Leaving will most likely be reduced (your friends don't quit) but shit talking will shoot up like a rocket.  Now that you are in a comfortable environment people will unleash their inner playground schoolchild and the flaming racist idiocy and the like will be released.

A friends list and an ignore list, both easily accessible in-game, need to be implemented. Everytime I join a game where my ignore list person is at, I want them flagged on my screen, cuz I can't remember the names of all the jerks out there. At the same time, I want to play with people I put on my friends list because they are classy.

well Im the only person that I knowthat plays this game so that suxors for me unless everyone in this forum adds me to thre friends list..I promise I wont rage quit......

Friends list isn't so important as an ignore douchebag list.
