Allot of issues

Goodday folkes,

I bought demigod last week and i love it! Its a great stratigic game. But, i have allot of tech difficulties. I tried the game using a friends copy, and when i bought my own, i deleted the map thinking i would start with a nice fresh install (removing favor and such), what was stupid of me here is i didnt use the windows uninstaller. When i tried to install the fresh version, it was complaining it could not install beceaus of a previous installation. After allot of hustle with the register i got it to install, but now it was complaining it couldnt find the cd.

At that point i tried reinstalling Impulse, wich gave similar problems, unable to unstall due to a previous version.

I probally wrecked something in the register, and have yet again learned to stay away from there (im pritty sure i wrecked a Windows a few years a go tinckering with the reg).

But in the end, i copied an installed version of impulse from a different pc, and used that to download demigod directly threw impulse. And all was well, until...

Until an update come out, now i have to uninstall the game, download it again (twice yesterday for some reason), and reinstall it.

This is all with out any doubt my own fault, not to blame stardock, however, i was hoping of finding away around all of this, and might find some suggestions here.

Regards UncleanXuch (who sinds two days like Lord Cerb better and is now stuck with the wrong name)

If you contact [email protected], they should be able to help you track down any "gunk" and get it cleared out so everything will install/detect properly.

Pick up a program called Ccleaner, I won't link it here because it is a third party program and I don't know SD's stance on linking such things.  Try using the program name as the website name :)

Anyway, that will clean out your registry for you with the option to back it up before you go through with the cleaning.  It also cleans out the rest of the junk on your computer but that is all optional and separate from your registry.

This is a legit free program that I have been using for years,  so you don't have to worry about a virus.

Hope this helps you get it installed quicker.

If you need help with ccleaner:

Start the program

Click "Registry" on the left

On the bottom right click "Scan for issues"

Wait....................

On the bottom right again click "Fix Selected Issues..."

Click "Yes" to save a backup of the entries being deleted

Select a spot to save them and click "Save"

Click "Fix All Selected Issues"

Click "OK"

Wait.....

Done.
