Pantheon Balance - Theories

So far, dark side has only come out ahead in a single pantheon tournament, with light winning almost every time.  This time around with v1.1, dark is so far in the lead.  This could be a fluke and light will be pulverizing them by tomorrow, or something that was changed in the most recent patch has flipped the odds.

1) Heart of Life nerf.  It's possible that this item was more useful to light demigods than dark.  Suddenly a tower Rook can't maintain his impenetrable fortress indefinitely.  You aren't seeing Oak's shield/HoL combo as early in the match, if at all.  Sure, the nerf hurts all demigods overall, but maybe light side is feeling its effects just a bit more strongly.

2) Number of players.  This isn't quite as significant now, but light side used to have a lot more players.  Before, bots were extraordinarily prevalent (they still show up now, unfortunately) and the side with bots is all but guaranteed a loss.  If there are more light side players than there are more light side players fighting bots, giving them free favor.  Now the numbers are a bit more even and there are fewer bot matches.

Any theories of your own?  It could just be a fluke, you know.  Dark has won once before and this current round is far from over.

I believe the winner of Pantheon is solely dictated by AI.

Last few rounds, FoD have had more AIs.

This time FoL must be having more.

Officially, the biggest reason for AI appearance is due to premade quitting.

The overwhelming reason that a game is won is due to AI.

Yes, there is that thing called skill but if the other team is farming your AI (as you should do), you've got no chance whatsoever of winning.

So, the answer to your question is:

More premade-quitters in Pantheon are playing on FoL this time.

You can now concede within the first 3 minutes if you are paired with an AI partner, and the match will be recorded as N/A and not a win/loss.

So what happens if you are in a 2v2 and u just happen to die in the first 3 mins? (it happens...)

Can you just quit and not record a loss?

Is this accurate?

That makes absolutely no sense that concedes are not losses.

When you concede, you are telling the other team they win.  Hence, you lose.

I thought concede was just to prevent rage-quitting, and not show up as disconnects.  I was under the impression it still counted as a loss.

I think its just player balance, I can only speak for myself, but the only reason i went dark this time was cos light won too much. If dark win this tournament i'll play light next one, and so forth.

I'd imagine many other players are also doing this.

I dunno I've been alternating light/dark and the side I'm ons been winning everytime.  I started out light on accident not realize it'd force me on it for the whole tournament.  Didn't really notice an abundance of the named AI players (Hintani Nacer etc) on either side.  WHen I switched to dark almost every named AI was on the other side.  When I switched to light same with almost every AI being on dark.  Now with this round I'm on dark again and I haven't seen a single AI on my side.  You can still get games with all AIs in which case the game won't be aborted and the side that has real players on it get free favor.

Idk but an AI Reg did insane in Pantheon last night. He went 13-4 in a 4v4 with 1 human vs 1human.  :maybe:
